On a rainy Sunday morning Central Social Hall treated Yelp Edmonton Elites to a tasty brunch complete with a book exchange! After arriving at the event Yelpers could drop off the book they brought for the swap, do some socializing and even check out the Jays game on the huge big screen TVs. There was plenty of Yelp SWAG on hand, and the men in attendance were treated to locally made soap from Bro Brick Soap, in scents like beer and wasabi, rye and coke and leather scrub. Chef Rueben Major flew in from Vancouver to prepare the meal for this amazing brunch which got off to a cheery start with a pineapple mimosa. Then Yelpers got to taste an Italian sausage and mushroom skillet with Central Social Hall’s signature roasted poblano and white cheddar sauce. Next was a house-made Belgian waffles with peach compote and chantilly cream. A blonde beer from Vancouver craft brewery Postmark Brewing was the "intermission" beverage. Then it was onto Eggs Benedict where Yelpers sampled either the Oil Country Benny with Italian sausage and bacon, or a Veggie Benny on a chickpea and mushroom patty. Finally came The Cure, named for being the perfect “morning after” meal, this was a breakfast version of poutine with shoestring fries, cheese curds, red wine gravy, and poached egg, and more of the delicious smoked poblano and white cheddar sauce. Yelpers then got to pick up a book for the book swap, and enjoy some great company before heading out.
