SF's "Inside Norcal" at El Mercado Urbano

Ever seen the SNL skit, Inside SoCal? San Francisco Elites and their buddies recently had two epic kickbacks ... With a few NorCal modifications. Instead of Keith's Dad's condo, we were chillin' at El Mercado Urbano, La Urbana's newest addition to the restaurant. No need to BYOB, 21st Amendment and Montelobos Mezcal had us covered. Wouldn't be a true SF shindig without craft beer or cocktails. MVP of the night? That's gotta be our boy Gerard from Mañana Tequila, offering tastings to the crew and making the party truly gangster. And yes, there was bomb ass food, including ceviche, chicken mousse, carnitas on toast, and mango marshmallow dessert. Thanks to Joel and the La Urbana team for hosting a 5-star event! Photos both nights are up on Yelp San Francisco's Flickr page, courtesy of Jorge Novoa.

About El Mercado Urbano:
The walls: covered in a black-and-white skeletony motif. The sangria: guarded by more skeletons. And like any good garage, this one's got plenty of beers on ice. Help yourself to a bottle of Mexicali pilsner. Just put your five bucks in the dangling bucket. The skeletons are watching.

Or take over a card table and cover it with mezcal-champagne punch instead--it'll fuel a fierce domino tournament as you watch the sky darken through the open garage doors.
