Reno Yelp Elites were invited to experience fun fine dining at Bistro Napa inside the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa! Elites were treated to a four course meal which included ahi poke tacos, compressed watermelon and basil salad, handmade seafood angilotti, and more. Each course was presented by the Executive Chef, and expertly paired with wine and cocktails like the spicy and sweet Cactus Flower and Orin Swift's Abstract, a complex red wine many added to their must have lists. It was a sunny evening and the Yelp shades and hats were perfect to wear. It was excitement in the air as our passionate guide Jonas told us about Stockholm's blood bath, beheading of the wealthy people back in the days and showed us hidden gems. Yelp corn and Mojitea got us hungry so when we arrived at Mr. French the drink Summer Side was exactly what we needed. Yelpers got treated to a real feast with three kinds of meat, rosé and red wine and it turned out to be a perfect evening filled with laughter, new friends and the sun setting over the water. There was a photo competition with the theme "A typical Tourist" and all Yelpers recieved a "Survival Kit" which came in handy.

Taste Of 7th And J!

Groupshot

Five venues, 80 Yelp Elites, 80 guests, three hours and a desire to explore an entire San Diego city block from top to bottom - this was an Elite Event that broke the mold and certainly left an impression! Moonshine Flats served as the meeting place and was the only location to host all 160 attendees at once most of which broke into a group line dance. From there smaller groups of 40 were formed and the culinary tour was ready to begin! Blind Burro mixed some Mexican masterpieces, Bub's brought the game night, Southpaw served as the perfect outdoor setting and Cat Eye Club's tiki drinks loosened the mood. It's safe to say that a great time was had by all, but if you need further proof all the raving reviews can be found here, and Chris Brake's photography prowess is located on the Yelp San Diego Flickr page per usual... cheers!

Sunday Funday In Portland, ME

Maine

Sun'day Fun'day. noun, A way to end one week and start a new one with friends by participating in organized events ranging from amusing to entertaining, fun to relaxing. The day ends early enough that you'll still be able to get home to recover before heading out to work Monday morning.

Yelp Maine celebrated their first Yelper Party on July 20 at Urban Farm Fermentory to raise money for Portland Trails. Folks played classic arcade games (like Ms. Pacman and Ice Cold Beer), grooved to classic rock covers, and challenged their taste buds with red chili pepper kombucha. Others unwound with massages, soothed by a live cello performance, and enjoyed a nice cold glass of "cidah" (cider for you non-Mainers!). Yelp's Candy & Couch Lounge provided a serious sugar rush and make new friends on. Of course, there was a ton of wonderful food as well! Read the reviews of the event here, and be sure to check out both the party and booth photos on the Flickr page, too.

Manhattan Yelpers Hit The Hookah at Pergola NYC

14530763618_4dc785a001_z.jpg

Haven't been to Pergola NYC yet? In a nutshell, it's a new Mediterranean restaurant and lounge which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with Middle Eastern influences, specialty cocktails, hookah, and doubles as a multi-tiered event space with two sprawling stories to take in the glory of this beautiful oasis in the middle of Flatiron. To help you get a visual, check out some of their videos here. Oh, and it also used to be a flower shop way back when (hence the beautiful, relaxing foliage that dots the interior). Spend some time in nature without leaving the restaurant!

Joining us on the event were our pals at Georgi vodka. If you're a Long Islander by birth, chances are you've partied alongside Syosset's homegrown spirit in the past, and last night was no different.

Manhattan Oenophiles Get Schooled at Premier Cru Wine Merchants

14530904618_a8ab153256_z.jpg

Premier Cru Wine Merchants is a unique and inviting place to purchase and learn about wine. As a small boutique they have the opportunity to be very selective with what they choose to put on their shelves. The result is a personal and well edited selection of wines from around the world. If you recognize many of the labels they're not doing their job well enough! They want to bring in little known and under-heralded wines that represent great taste and great value.

For this event, we dove into a some serious wine education. With 4 different stations covering everything from the systematic approach to tasting, the concept of "Terroir" or the impact of climate on how grapes are grown and how the resulting wine tastes, key wines from important wine regions, and helping to develop a vocabulary for describing what you like and dislike about wine - guests walked away much more knowledgable about wine and viticulture than ever before.

Check out pictures of the event here and reviews of the event here. Also, be sure to keep in touch with Premier Cru on Yelp and Facebook

Never had a chance to check out Yerba Buena Perry? Well, you've been missing out on their innovative take on Latin American cuisine. The team at YBP work their magic to create vibrant flavors from the cultures of Cuba, Peru, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. All prepared in an open kitchen setting, it gives you a peek behind the curtain as the kitchen bangs out delectable dish after delectable dish. In addition to the fab foodstuffs, they also have a top notch wine program with lots of South American varietals and a fantastic cocktail program to boot.

Speaking of cocktails, we hooked up with Encanto Pisco to create the perfect tag team partner. With roots themselves in Latin America, Pisco (a Peruvian brandy) is on the verge of a Renaissance, so hop on the cool kid train and get familiar with Encanto so you can brag to your friends that you were drinking it first.

The acclaimed restaurant celebrated the opening of their first Northern California location by allowing our best online contributors to - wait for it - order anything and everything off their entire menu at absolutely no charge! This included an extensive selection of complimentary drinks from their spacious bar. Dressed in western attire to fit the old west/gold rush theme, Elites mixed, mingled, danced to the DJ'd beats and hammed it up in a themed photobooth. Afterwards, they tried to strike it rich at the tables in the neighboring Stones Gambling Hall, a slick and modern gambler's paradise. Despite scattered showers, a gung-ho group of Yelp New Orleans Elites came out for a Sunday funday in the French Quarter for Gray Line's exclusive trifecta tour with knowledgeable guides Etienne and Brian. The tour combined the company's top tours including history, ghost, and, our favorite, cocktail! Before, during and after the tour, Creole Cuisine restaurants including Royal House, Chartres House, and Broussard's kept our Elites happy with delicious local fare including fried alligator, oyster pastries, redfish beignets, and shrimp remoulade. We washed it down with refreshing cocktails along the way including Broussard's bartender Paul Gusting's famous Pimm's Cup. We left the Quarter with full bellies, a good buzz, and a ton of great knowledge about the city we call home! Take a tip from me, and check out the great reviews and fun photos from our journey in the Vieux Carre.

Madison Elites Fall For Falafel

Posted by Corey Dane

Pita

It was love at first Banzo, when Yelp Elites were treated to a bodacious buffet like only these guys can create, complete with falafel, grilled chicken, salad, hummus, rice and other Mediterranean accoutrements that guests packed into a perfect pita at Yelp Elites Falafel In Love. Owners Netalee and Aaron along with the entire Banzo team whisked folks away to Jerusalem (without leaving Madison) and reminded us why their restaurant space is worth spending time at. Their carts are king around these parts, but the outdoor patio and adjacent grassy area at their Sherman Ave. location is stellar for dining al fresco all summer, especially when No Name String Band is on hand providing the soundtrack. Read about what got Elites excited here and look at pics!

Madrid celebrates (again) 10 Years of Yelp with a fantastic brunch!

Posted by Lolo R.

Brunch federal.jpg

Last Saturday 25 Yelp Elite Squad members had the chance to enjoy a fantastic brunch at Federal Café Madrid. As a part of the 10 Years of Yelp celebrations, Yelpers were welcomed with some sparkling wine, so we could all make a toast for 10 more Yelpy years. After that, the brunch properly said started with a full variety of delicacies: a yummy mix between yogurt, honey and muesli; ham, Emmental cheese and basil croissants; avocado and lime toasts; cheese and ham sandwiches; french toasts and muffins. They could also taste some great wines, as well as try the incredible coffee that Federal's barista makes. But that was not quite all, since the Elites could also have samples of one of the greatest ice cream shops in the entire city: Acquolina. Yelpers could taste different flavors, such as Tramontana (fudge, cream, chocolate and Oreo cookies), chocolate and strawberry among others. Do you want to know more about this event? Then take a look to the reviews and the amazing pictures!

On Thursday, Elites and guests sported their game faces for an evening of bowling, billiards, and arcades at Yelp’s Got Game Elite Event at Uptown Alley. This impressive venue was the perfect place to let loose and enjoy a little friendly competition. Not only did we feel completely VIP in our private section with eight bowling lanes and two pool tables, but everyone received game cards to use in the arcade as well as coupons for a future visit! Tasty bites like crab wontons, Southwest rolls, and caprese salad kept everyone fueled and ready to bring their A-game! Thank you to Uptown Alley for hosting this energy-filled event! Prom night and 10th Yelpiversary in Valencia!

FatineZ.jpg

Have you ever been back to your teens before? We did it in our last event at Old School Pub, the perfect place to celebrate 10 years of Yelp love around the world. More than 65 Yelpers came with a date ready for dancing, having an incredible homemade punch, tasty mini burguers, splendid craft valencian beer and amazing cakes. We had so much fun listening to 90's valencian disco hits and Yelp candles were blown in the best celebrating atmosphere we could have. And we still have so many years to Yelp on! Read all the reviews of the event here and see all the fabulous photos by Maje Aliaga on the Flickr page.

On Thursday night, Yelp Hampton Roads Elites went back in time at FM Restaurant for a throwback party to the 80s. It was a night full of games, bright lights, 80s propaganda, delicious eats and a costume contest. Game highlights include Connect Four, Hungry Hungry Hippos and the ever so challenging Rubik's Cube (solved by Yelp Elite Kimberly H). Food samples included: chicken salad sandwich bites, mini pimento cheese sandwiches, hush puppies and deviled eggs. The night ended with an 80s costume competition with attendees deciding on the winner, Yelp Elite, Nicole K. Brewery

Are you a fan of delicious craft beer and beer gardens? You owe it to yourself to head down to Resurgence Brewing and grab yourself a cold one. If the exposed brick wall and gorgeously laid out open brewery is not enough to entice you, their outside firepit, beer garden and finnesely crafted beer sure will. Only open for a few months, the brewery and beer garden has already made top lists for thing you can't miss while in Buffalo. Yelp Elite's checked it out and unanimously agreed of its epic nature, while munching on delicous grilled food from Plato Dale Farm. Don't take our word for it, check out the photos and the reviews!
