From our roots in manufacturing to the recent renaissance of artisanal production, Brooklyn has always been a hub of creativity and industry. We want to shine a spotlight on this abundance of local ingenuity and determination, which is why we've launched the Brooklyn Born series of events. Last night, we headed inside the humble headquarters of Kings County Distillery.
Located in the old Paymaster building of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, this group of local distillers is putting out three different types of whiskey: their flagship bourbon, the moonshine, and in a partnership with Mast Brothers, the chocolate. Patrick, one of KCD's finest, led us through the history of distilling in NYC, the process behind KCD's delicious whiskey, and of course, a taste of these wonderful spirits.
