Saturday mornings never tasted so good! North County Yelp Elite were hosted for a brunch of epic proportions at Sea & Smoke, the latest Matt Gordon restaurant in Del Mar. The venue was stunning and the food sublime, but what's more the mood was generous. As the lucky attendees checked in they filled up bins for the local food bank: Now that's a Yelp Gives Back Brunch! Sea & Smoke graces its Flower Hill location with a spacious floor-plan. From the upstairs festive dining room, to the downstairs modern bar and outdoor patio, the decor is warm and inviting. Chef Matt and staff were on hand pouring AM cocktails and setting a spread that had the group drooling in anticipation. The Sea & Smoke sparklers (pear syrup & pineapple juice & bubbles), Bloody Mary's, fresh coffee, juices and traditional mimosas flowed! Our morning menu boasted all the savory and sweet you could want for a weekend wake up. Orange scented custard french toast with butter pecan sauce, mini cornbread benedicts with perfectly cooked poached eggs, mustard Hollandaise and a variety of toppings, croque madame's, confit fingerling potatoes and delectable brown sugar bacon: And that was just the start! The pièce de résistance was a build your own cinnamon roll bar with a dozen toppings to choose from. This intimate meal has a guest list of 65... and that select group raised over 380 lbs of food for the local North County food bank! What generosity! The venue provided an over the top experience and Elites filled those donation bins over the top (and them some) as well.
