Yelp LV's Happy Hour of the Dead @ La Comida
Sure, Day of the Dead isn't until November, but that doesn't mean we can't offer a sacrifice a bit early! (Does it?) Either way, La Comida invited 50 Elites and their best guests in for a food and cocktail tasting. With blood orange margaritas and ceviche on the tasting menu, it was a killer time *rimshot*. To register the party on the Richter Scale, we had a face painter on hand to skull people out and sacrifices (food donations) were accepted in the name of Because of the Heart.
Head Chef Paloma Cuellar's menu consists of food from almost every region of Mexico. Eric S: "Several appetizers were served from Mexican style burgers to ribs, tacos, queso (w/ chorizo), guacamole and chips, tuna on a chip, and ceviche. The presentation on the tapas sized portions was beautifully executed. The food had interesting flavors, mostly with a spicy kick. The guacamole was excellent, the salsa very spicy, and the queso bursting with flavor."
Brian P: "La Comida was very generous with their offerings and it seemed like a never ending parade of colorful margaritas. I was able to try all 4 'ritas: prickly pear, blood orange, passion fruit, and guava and they were all very tasty. You could even tell there was alcohol in their drinks too! The staff at La Comida was wonderful and each item was explained to us as it was being served. The owner and head chef also stopped by each table to see how we were doing and answer any questions that we had. I am really glad we had an event here because I never would have known that they existed!"
