PDXYelp Elites Enjoyed A Swanky Steak-Ation @ Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!
What's more swanky than a private room at one of the nation's top steakhouses, a multi-course dinner, cocktails, local wine and award-winning service? Nothing, as PDXYelp Elites found out on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, as they attended Yelp's Swanky Steak-Ation @ Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!
It was a breezy October evening as 20 select PDXYelp Elite Members gathered at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on SW Broadway for a highly-anticipated exclusive dinner event. Valet parking covered by Ruth's, it was a no-brainer to roll right up and stroll right in. Dressed in their swankiest attire, these fine folks were greeted with Ruth's Chris Manhattans and Pomegranite Martinis as they entered, and treated to passed appetizers of seared ahi with cucumber coins and bruschetta. Mixing and mingling, attendees got the lowdown on Ruth's Chris' history in Portland from Chris, the General Manager, and were then welcomed to sit for dinner. After some introductions, Yelpers got to choose from an exceptional offering of multi-course choices, all from the Ruth's Chris Prix Fixe menu. And this whole dinner was paired with wines from the excellent local winery Archery Summit!
For starters, it was Chicken Andoullie Sausage Gumbo; Steak House Salad; Baby Spinach, Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salad; or Caesar Salad. The main events on offer included a 6oz Filet with Lobster Tail; Filet Mignon; Ribeye; or a Halibut stuffed with crab and lobster! Family style sides of mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, south-western mac n cheese and green beans with roasted garlic, which are signature Ruth's Chris sides, came with everything. After this incredible course, Yelpers were treated to a dessert of mini creme brulee cheesecakes with a chocolate walnut cookie and rhubarb compote. Oh, and cappuccinos. Delicious cappuccinos. Valerie W sums it up well: "All in all I left that place with one heck of a food baby. Maybe even triplets. I finished nearly everything that was on my plate because it was just sooooo good. Plus, you know the meal is excellent when Yelpers go quiet for a few while everyone indulges. I don't think I'll need to eat the rest of the week!"
A huge amount of thanks for this incredible food adventure goes to Chris and the fine staff at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse; Ana M and Jenni L; Archery Summit; and of course the PDXYelp Elite, without whom this would not be possible. Don't just take my word for it though, check out the reviews and photos (photos on FB too) from the event.
Until next time, keep it meaty.
