La Fogata Hosts Yelp's Halfway to Fiesta Bash!
There was a slight chill in the air, thunder clouds loomed overhead for most of the day, and there was a point we all thought we'd have to change out our chanclas for our galoshes. Alas, the tequila saints and weather Gods joined forces to ensure a beautiful night under the dazzling papel picado at Fiesta Plaza at La Fogata – because when San Antonio Yelpers are in the spirit, nothing will keep us from Fiesta-ing!
If you made it around the world tequila-style, then you sipped on a variety of margaritas thanks to our alcohol partners SA Wholesale Liquors. Said 'ritas happen to be a specialty of La Fogata's, but if other concoctions are more your style, then hopefully you didn't miss La Joya, Effen Vodka, Saint Arnold craft brews, and Blue Nectar tequila (hosting the Yelp Elite Lounge furnished by The Lounge Concept). Last but certainly not least, rum raspas in flavors like tequila-lime and tamarindo kept us in the festival spirit. If you accomplished the feat of sampling everything, then you might've been in need of our Fiesta Survival Kits complete with day-after necesities like KIND Snacks, RESQWATER, Red Bull, and a doggie survival kit from Pawderosa Ranch. Also, a big thanks to Tiger Services for keeping us all cooler than everybody else!
Elite Yelper Joe C explains what we all felt, "We apparently overshot La Fogata by a couple hundred miles, and made it all the way to a town square in Jalisco, Mexico during an elaborate street fair. ¡Ay, Caramba!" Tex-Mex delicacies included empanadas, flautas, tostadas y queso, rajas y pollo con crema, nachos, ceviche, tasty street tacos, and the overwhelming fan favorite, tacos de cochinita pibil which had most Yelpers claiming their undying devotion to La Fogata on the spot.
La Fogata's in-house mariachis greeted us all and got the party started, followed up by favorite local DJ, Steven Lee Moya, mixing everything from current cumbia hits to Selena, because duh, we like to keep it puro San Antonio. If you missed your moment in the spotlight of TapSnap's digital photo booth, what were you thinking?! You can peep the photo booth shots here (Fiesta flare props thanks to Mean Baby). Also, the official party photos from Parish Photography are available for viewing here. And, you could be famous if you were included in Puro Pinche's video wrap-up of the party.
We never miss an opportunity to turn a party into a good cause, and this one was no different. If for some reason you weren't able to donate at the party, we hope you'll remember all the free merriment you experienced that night and share it with someone who needs it! Roy Maas Youth Alternatives accepts donations year round to help break the cycle of abuse in the lives of our local youth.
If you haven't shared your review yet, please add yours to the mix so we can continue to make our Yelp San Antonio bashes bigger and better!
Until we Fiesta again, See You on Yelp!
