The Burgh Brews Up The Best @ East End Brewing Co & Commonplace Coffee
Elites joined togethr for the inside deets on the brew process at Yelp's East End Brew University. We covered ground on not one brewery, but two with East End Brewing Company and Commonplace Coffee. Both are housed in the same building and work in total brew harmony!
East End Brewing Companies motto is "Buy a good friend a good beer" and that certainly was the case this very special Elite peak! Mac R "loves that they make no waste from their processes and it's great to see entrepreneurs that are doing so well and producing such an in demand product that they are almost outgrowing their newly expanded space and literally can't make their beer fast enough to have any backlog. Couldn't happen to a nicer group of people and Scott, the owner! I could have sampled myself into an embarrassing state and not stopped."
A love note to East End Brewery; Laura T "always knew I had a special bond with your Monkey Boy beer but now I feel like I've met all its relatives" with brews such as Big Hop IPA, Fat Gary Nut Brown Ale, Black Strap Stout and seasonal fave of the night Strawberry Ale.
If Elites weren't buzzed enough already from the beer, they headed over to Commonplace Coffee's corner for an expert explanation of their coffee culture. "TJ has a passion for coffee unlike anything" Stacy C "has ever seen. He walked us through their roasting process and the different ways to brew coffee. Showed us a pour over method using a ChemX pitcher and filter that brings out more of the sweetness of the beans and it was the first time I've actually enjoyed a coffee black." There's a first for everyone at Elite Events, be sure of that!
"Clearly TJ's a true coffee artist" remarks Aja J. "I've never witnessed anyone make a cup quite like he did. And the result of his slow, circular pour was pure awesomeness. And at $2 a cup, Starbucks can go roast themselves!" Spoken like a true coffee connoisseur!
Rounding out the East End crew was YinzBurgh BBQ, located just a hop away from the brewery! "The BBQ pork was tender and flavorful. Plus, the black eyed peas with rice" was Kristin P's fave. "This is another great find in the East End." Amanda W wonders "how does Yinzburg BBQ make those beans and rice taste so good? We're on our way for a full on feast!"
"The shared space is fantastic, such a good combination of wonderful things and people" explains Heidi S. "This is what community looks, tastes, feels like. Hopefully this is the future of the meaning of "commonplace," but as of now these exemplary businesses are far better than average." We couldn't have put it better ourselves!
A big thank you to East End Brewing Company, Commonplace Coffee and the amazing staff for treating Yelpers to such an amazing evening! Thanks to YinzBurgh BBQ for the tasty vegetarian bites! Also, thanks to Porter Loves Photography for the fab photo's that you can check out here.
