Located on the third floor next to the pool, the Hilton transformed their outdoor area into a semi-tropical atmosphere complete with surf decor, servers in Hawaiian shirts and a variety of summer time cocktails and appetizers to get people into the night's themed festivities.
Though the event was free, a suggested $5 donation at the door went back to our non-profit partners of the night, The Frida Cinema, located in the Arts District of Santa Ana. Yelpers generously went above and beyond and raised a total of $439 for the featured organization!
Food was in abundance as our wonderful hosts sampled items from their menus that included:
- Chilled mango sweet rolls
- Mini chopped salads
- Deviled eggs with a twist
- Carnitas tacos
- Charred strip loin w/ olive oil poached new potatoes and cilantro chimchurri
- Mini baked prosciutto mac 'n cheese
- Barbecued ribs
and a variety of other treats throughout the evening.
Rachel V sums up her eating adventure by exclaiming, "The food was spectacular! The ribs were falling off the bone, prime rib with the chimichurri sauce was very juicy, the tacos were delicious, spring rolls were petite but packed a whole lot of flavors and I could go on and on! Every dish from the appetizers to the desserts were a success." We couldn't agree more!
A party isn't a party without some great drinks. The hotel offered two complimentary bevies that included an Acai Absolut Palmer consisting of berry vodka, lemonade and then served with fresh blueberries and a Mango Cooler comprised of mango citrus vodka, simple syrup, orange juice and a lime wedge. Howie C liked that the Absolut Palmer was "not too sweet" and how the Mango Cooler was on the "lighter side and very refreshing."
Wildflour Cupcakes was on hand to end the patron's eating escapades on a sweet note by providing some of their signature flavors like Oreo truffle, red velvet, Prince Charming, and mango coconut in a bite sized form. Sharon S professes, "I have found my Prince Charming. If he's in the form of a chocolate cupcake with perfect raspberry icing, so be it. Those things were SO GOOD. I'll be checking them out in Fullerton, and the coupon was a nice extra sweet treat!"
There was no shortage of photos throughout the evening as Viral Booth provided some great picture fun for partygoers. Lisa A was definitely a fan: "The Viral Booth photo area was super cool. Lots of props, and super knowledgeable guys helping us. I got their biz card for future events!"
If all that wasn't enough, DJ Velvet Touch spun some awesome beachy inspired tunes while the venue's fitness center was on hand giving out free five-minute massages for some added relaxation.
Even if we experience summer weather most of the year, it was great to end the season with a bang! Thanks Hilton Anaheim for an amazing time!
