Yelp Elites Party Beach-Style @ Mission Taco Joint
Who says summer’s almost over?! On Monday, Yelp St. Louis Elites had an extended weekend
complete with a Monday-Funday beach theme party at Mission Taco Joint. There’s
no better spot in town to celebrate the hottest time of the year, and this
party certainly delivered.
After getting lei’d at the door, Yelpers were greeted by a signature cocktail whipped up by Mission’s top-of-the-line bartenders. This fruity concoction, Yelp Punch, had enough juices to color a SoCal sunset… and also had a dash of Mission’s watermelon-grapefruit agua fresca. But that’s not all… 4 Hands Brewery served their latest taste bud-experiment—fresh on tap! Elite Newbie Sarah M speaks for us all when saying, “The 4 Hands beer with grapefruit was superb!” There’s nothing like some summer sips to get the party started.
This beach bash wouldn't be complete without the myriad of
taco and nacho combinations Mission Taco prepared. Steven B “got a giggle every
time someone returned from the buffet table and reported on a new combo of
tacos that were out.” But MT wasn’t alone on filling up these beach bums!
Steve’s Hot Dogs prepared some incredible loaded dawgs, complete with the
works. Ben S had to face reality after trying one for himself: “I would be
lying to myself if I didn't admit that the smoked hot dog from Steve's was
better than the ones I grilled for lunch that same day.”
In between bites and sips, Yelpers had the opportunity to
get their faces painted by Jessica Dana at Human Art. Elite Charleen S says Jessica “made the night special” and
“made her feel like a kid again.” We even spotted someone with painted-on
sunglasses! And what’s a beach party without a live band? There was never a
dull moment thanks to Steve Ewing, front man of The Urge and owner of Steve’s
Hot Dogs. Dustin O notes, Steve “sung an amazing set of music for everyone. “
Great tunes and the best hot dogs in town? What can’t the guy do?!
As always, this party was one for the books. It was also my very last Elite Event as the Yelp St. Louis Community Manager, so it was special to be able to thank everyone and spend some time with the fantastic Yelp St. Louis Elite Squad. As always, huge thanks goes to everyone who came out to celebrate! Special thanks also goes to Brea Photography for capturing the whole evening on camera.
