Yelp <3 DagensOutfit: Trade Day

Posted by Tine

[ENGLISH BELOW!]

Hva er Trade Day?

If you didn't come to Yelp Oslo's and DagensOutfit's massive Trade Day at Mesh, you really missed out. In cooperation with Fretex, we arranged (probably) Oslos biggest clothes swap like...ever!

So what is exactly Trade Day?

Imagine a whole day where you can go and shop for free.

Imagine that you meanwhile, by participating, actually are doing some something great for the environment.

Linn S thought it was "a perfect opportunity to clean out and get rid of all the stuff one doesn't use, and still have the opportunity to bring something 'new' home." For a full eight hours, you could do like Veronica V: "I handed in some clothes I don't use anymore and got in return 5 pieces of clothing and a pair of shoes. I even found a shirt I wore the very same night!"

Too good to be true? We haven't even mentioned that the we in addition got free manicures from the nails salon S&M, our hair styled by Hendrix Hair, learn some pole dance by Sometimes Pole Studio... and finish it all off with a massage from Shanti Healing Arts. By then we all felt so relaxed it was time for another treasure hunt among the clothes!

Seriously? Oh yes.

Liv O confirms that we're not making this up: "This was so much fun! It was the first time I went to a swap day and it was great! The venue was cool, the event was well organized and it really was the ultimate girl's day with massage, manicures and hairdressers." It doesn't get better than that! Alde B says it was a win-win situation: "It was so nice to see that someone was happy to get my clothes, and I was happy because I found something I really liked, too."

At the end of the day, Fretex came and picked up the left over clothes. The finish result? We donated 550 kiloes of clothes. That's the weight of a grown horse. That was the weight of the fattest woman alive. That's as much as 23 full suit cases if you don't want to pay overweight on the airplane.

A massive thank you to our sponsors:

Godt Brød's organic steaming hot boller were delicious! Coconut Bros' coconut water was refreshing. The Divine Chocolate from Friends Fair Trade was indeed divine. For our photo competition prize, the Noir hair straightener from Gorgeous sponsored by Hendrix Hair, and the TL design nailpolish from S&M made Cesilie D very happy!

It's not too long 'till we meet again,
 but untill we do... SYOY!

All the best,

Tine V
