The Children's Museum of Houston's new exhibit – "Summer of Epic Adventure" – set the backdrop for Houston's biggest event of the summer: Come Pley With Yelp!

Local Houston yelpers suited up in their best superhero (and villain) ensembles to explore the grounds and the evening's many food, beverage, entertainment stations. …In the name of charity, of course, raising $4,400 for the CMH!

Completely transformed, thanks sound and lighting sponsor Pro Sound, colorful illumination hues, flashing lights and bumpin’ beats filled the halls, as DJ Seduction took over the ones and twos. From all the dancing and exploring, there was an array of refreshing adult beverages to wet whistles: Blue Moon's new Vintage Ale Collection, Crispin Cider, Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka, Deep Eddy Straight Vodka, Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, Saint Arnold Brewing Company. For our designated drivers, Honest Tea, Monster Energy and Java Pura Coffee Roasters helped to rehydrated and energize!

There to nourish guests’ superhero strength, some of Houston's best eateries provided a delicious spread of bites – from savory to sweet: jalapeno sausage and brisket from The Brisket House; cocktail meatballs, pasta and sauces from Brooklyn Meatball Co.; crawfish and gumbo from The Cajun Stop; tres leches cake, spinach dip and hummus from The Chelsea Grill; tequila-infused mini margarita cupcakes from CRAVE Cupcakes; fruit and nut granola bars from KIND Healthy Snacks; beef pho, bun bo hue (spicy noodle soup), spring rolls, tofu and bok choy, and beef Jap chae from Kim Chau Restaurant; soy sauce packets Little Soya; beef and chicken tamales from Listos Restaurant & Catering; various pizzas, wings and gelato from Luigi's Pizzeria; tootsie maki rolls from RA Sushi; s’more donuts, donut holes and rum-spiked smoothies from Shipley Do-Nuts 12225 Westheimer. And with all the food and drinks, Houston local Nexus Disposal made it easy for cleanup and recycling.

For added entertainment and prizes, there were multiple superhero spa stations: giveaways from amerejuve MedSpa’s wheel of spa prizes; mini manis and nail designs by Nail Mogul; face and body paintings from Rawr Party!; and hair makeovers and hair chalking from White Salon & Skincare Center.

Miss out on all the fun? The team at MemoryBox captured Yelpers’ re-vamped look in the MemoryBox photo booth …with a video montage too! And shutterbugs DnN Photography, Beauty In Art, and MineralBlu Photography (photos) all documented the night of epic experience with candid photos! The event buzz is still going strong, as Yelpers are raving about the evening and its sponsors. Check out the event reviews – and if you attended, please share your thoughts, too!

Yelp makes living in Houston feel like I live in the best town on Earth! I love the Elite Events for the delish bites and tasty bevs. The best part is the dress-up and being able to connect with people who live in your town and love the same FOOD, DRINK and community spots! I freakin' love Yelp! Thanks for letting me Pley!
