It was getting hot up in Hoboken on Monday, where 70 Yelpers came out to enjoy one of Hoboken's finest Italian eateries, San Giuseppe. With parking readily available (can we get a heck ya for that), this BYO is a perfect place to enjoy both Northern and Southern regional Italian cuisine. Joe and Maria Russo, the two owners, were the perfect hosts making the Yelp Elite community feel as if we were being welcomed into their home. As Anthony J puts it: "The owner was a gracious and welcoming host, and it was nice that he had his family there to introduce them to everyone. Now we're all part of the family." Couldn't of said it better.
Upon walking in, greeted by the warm coal oven, an array of meats, cheeses, olives and foccacia was waiting for hungry Yelpers. While sippin' on the Spodee and cokes, the prize winning wings came out. And then the food floodgates opened. With bites of gnocchi, pizza, meatballs, bracciole, to the cannolis and tiramasu, San Giussepe spoiled any plans of eating lightly.
Priti K agrees with most that the gnocchi,"the little Italian potato balls of heaven covered in a creamy, delicious pesto sauce and sprinkled with roasted pine nuts" was the best dish of the evening but, Ellie J was still thinking about those coal fired chicken wings that "were seasoned and topped with caramelized onions. Tender, moist." And my personal favorite, and in which Evan M agrees, the margherita pizza, where "delicious San Marzano tomatoes top the brick oven pizza" along with fresh mozzarella and basil. Perfection.Jason H highlights the overall sentiment with" "I will certainly be going back to San Giuseppe for a full meal in the near future and I would recommend you do the same!"
Until next time, SYOY!
