Boston Elites Dwell On Yelp's Best Cellars Elite Event at Sorriso!
"Beer and cheese pairings? Never heard of such a thing before this event! But" Sharon O "thinks Yelp and Sorriso are on to something!" If you feel the need to foam artichoke heart puree or degust sea urchin air, then maybe you should hold off for a future Lowdown. But if the thought of hand-selected cheeses perfectly paired with baller cask ales and hop attacking IPAs, then Yelp's Best Cellars Elite Event is for you! PS: You missed it, so... sorry about that.
Building on a love of the stinky, creamy, sharp and salty, the good folks at Sorriso Trattoria painstakingly ported tremendously tangy nibbles off the wheel with suds from Firestone, Duvel, Allagash and more. Wine-soaked goats ("does anyone know the name of this cheese?" Nitya D "needs more of it in my life, kthx"), ripe rind Taleggios, subtle Jacks and – hell, why not? – a cayenne chocolate truffle for your Black Rye IPA pleasure sated the jazzed-up masses. And just for good measure, Sorriso's signature pizzas circulated amidst cheese-induced comas and beer-tinted glassware.
Greeting new faces reaped Riotous rewards, as guests were armed with Compliment stickers with one end goal: meet someone you haven't before, and give 'em a sticker. The Yelper with the most scored a pair of tickets to Wine Riot, but the count was sooo close, we had to settle for a top three. Congrats Steve J, Sonia D and Lu B for being quite the social butterflies!
Tatsu "defied gravity once again to get awesome pictures" Danielle K knows and loves (check Flickr and Facebook), Yelp Talk is hop happy and the reviews keep getting cheddar and cheddar. Brie-cause the best Parma life is Gouda times with grate friends... Make it stop! On second thought, don't.
Monger to the (five) stars!
Damien S (and some very stickered-up Yelpers). Boston Yelpterns Lizzy and Sue say hi, too!
