Crown Town's Elites Kick Off To 2013!

Ahhh. The freshness of the year’s first Elite Event has come and gone, but the long, whispery notes of delicious beer, finely grilled…grilled cheese, and lively chatter still fill our senses. What a doozy of kicking off the year in Crown Town. Our Elites waited with bated breath to get things rolling in the Queen City after the hopes and anticipation had turned to more waiting. Thus, for a “make-up,” we landed our yelp-laden ship at Triple C Brewing Co for a weeknight of fun.

Our crew consisted of plenty of new faces and new things to try. Triple C Brewing Co, one of the new brewskie-brewers on the scene played host. With a foamy lineup of Smoked Amber, Up All Night Porter, Babymaker IPA, and Golden Boy Blonde, our crew had the chance to sample the fare from our city’s newest sudsy sidekick. Pat D notes, “I was able to try a small sample of the Babymaker and then purchased their breakfast porter once they were done giving out samples. Both beers were fantastic.” To go a step further, Head Brewer Scott took our crew on a tour of the brewery. Mixed with a quick tutorial on the hops and barley used in-house and a walkthrough of the facility, our Elites and their guests got a chance to see the underbelly of their operation. “We love to support all things local and getting a VIP tour of Triple C was great! Seeing the special lab where they are inventing their next brews,” notes Amanda F.

The latest “strEATery” on our fair city’s streets is the likes of Papi Queso. Found a few days a week keeping beer-goers full, Elites had the chance of sampling a few of Chef Brian’s cheesy creations. Whipping up creations with pulled pork, pastrami, French onion concentrations, and mixtures of luscious cheeses, this food truck has an agenda. Brandi M tells of the “Pig Mac -- an amazing combination of bbq pork, grilled onions, and fluffy mac & cheese on pressed buttery bread,” which is one of his claims to street-side fame.

Always a lovely time to kick off the year in yelp-tastic style! Huge props to our friends at Triple C and Chef Brian from Papi Queso.
