San Antonio Yelpers Shop Local in Style & Culture at the McNay Art Museum
Just call us the most classy Elites around! Yelp Shops Local is in full swing in San Antonio and to jump start the season, the McNay Art Musuem hosted over eighty Yelpers. "Absolutely beautiful in the evening light," it was the ideal local venue to get everyone in the holiday shopping spirit!
The McNay's private event space was all ours to mingle and enjoy the serious spread laid before us by Spice of Life Catering. They wowed these foodies with creative offerings such as Korean-fusion sesame chicken wraps, a platter of savory Turkish fare, and risotto crab cakes with a peppercorn remoulade sauce. And just when we thought we couldn't possibly love them more, they whipped up Limoncello Dreamsicle shots for the post-dinner sweet spot. Nice and naughty, all at the same time!
A sign that Santa thinks we've all been on our P's and Q's, Saint Arnold came bearing gifts in the form of their refreshing Christmas Ale. "Light while still having a full body flavor," it helped us all get in the spirit, including Abby S. After enjoying brews and "tasty and perfectly sized bites," Yelpers rounded up for educator-led tours of the McNay's special exhibition, Estampas de la Raza. Featuring a handful of local artists' work, this collection comes from the home of our very own UTSA President, and Taj C was "incredibly impressed with the exceptional pieces."
Yelpers were antsy to hear which local retailers are on our must-visit shopping list this year, where they'll have a chance to win gift certificates and prizes after visiting stores and marking them off their list! After the grand unveiling, Yelpers shopped in the unique McNay gift store and took advantage of a 10% discount offerred to us all that evening. To top it all of, each Yelper left with a bottle of their very own Don Strange of Texas homemade barbecue sauce.
Keep shopping, y'all!
