Yelp's Sparkling Soiree at Abels on the Lake

It was one for the record books. The weather was perfect, traffic was non existent, Yelpers dressed up in sparkles and heels and we saw a crazy water powered flying jet pack contraption. Yep, just a typical Yelp Elite Event. 

Yelpers streamed into the upstairs terrace of Abel's on the Lake, with all the doors open, beautifully set cocktail tables, oysters gleaming, queso steaming and all the floor to ceiling windows open to let in our perfect 70 degree Austin air. Abels' servers quickly poured beautiful glasses of Brut Reserva and Rose Segura Viudas, tall frosty pints of Adelbert's Naked Nunn as brewer Aaron mingled with the crowd.

and bacon wrapped chicken stuffed jalapenos appeared as if by magic. And yelpers downed them as if my magic, queuing up for another round. Jenny L had a fabulous time: "I saw like a million oysters and bacon wrapped jalapeño loveliness. I had like a million Naked Nun beers. I hugged like a million friends. I laughed like a million times." 

At the other end of the room, Segura Viudas brand ambassadors engaged people in a scavenger hunt for five keys, one of which unlocks a treasure chest. The lucky winner received 6 bottles of Cava and lots of bragging rights. Other yelpers won itunes gift cards and glow bracelets, blinky necklaces, temporary tattoos on the SV prize wheel. Keyseri Y gives them 5 stars "Segura Viudas did a killer job with the wine, contest and the assortment of goodies--we'll be adding a bottle to our collection soon."

As the sun set, Austin Boat Tours' did a live on the lake demonstration of their new flying machine, a water powered jet pack that allows the user to fly, Ironman style, over the water by the power of water propulsion.
