Yelp's Freak Out Friday At The Children's Museum Of Houston
More than 200 Elites donned their most ghoulish garb and made way to Yelp's Freak Out Friday at The Children's Museum of Houston. There were tricks, there were treats, there were monster mash beats!
With a suggested $5 donation to the CMH, yelpers engaged in some of the most frightful – but fun – Halloween shenangiganss. A scavanger hunt thoughtout the Museum which included a slime making station, mazes and obstical courses.
There to keep the living dead pumped with monster mash tunes and energy were DJ Seduction along with partna' in crime DJ Scoop. And Houston Zombie Walk – Downtown was scaring up the scene with freakish zombies and zombie demmos.
Yelpers sipped on potent witches brew concocted with Deep Eddy Vodka and grapefruit juice and Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka and lemonade – along with ice cold Saint Arnold Santo, and vampire-approved cabernet sauvgnion from Houstonian-owned SYN Winery.
From savory to sweet, there was an array of noshes for the trick-o-treaters. The Little Po-Boy Shop turned up the heat with Jalapeno Hush Puppies, Crawfish Etouffe and Gumbo. Lured by the aromas of Hungry's Cafe & Bistro, the lines were long for their Jalapeno Hummus and Black Bean Orzo Pasta Salad. For a sugar high, Dolce Delights served up Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Cruch and Raspberry & Pistacchio dome cakes. Did MKT Bar's Walnut Baklava and Monster Eye Cake win you over? We don't blame you. And who can forget Nothing Bundt Cakes - Uptown and their sweet spread of popular mini bundts – from red velvet to carrot!
Shutterbugs DnN Photography and Nature's Studio Photography snapped both candid and photo booth pics of the Freak Out fun. If you missed the excitement, you can catch all the rave reviews here. Special thanks the Children's Museum of Houston for providing yelpers with complimentary passes for another return, $5 Starbucks gift cards for the scavenger hunt and awesome gift baskets for the many costume contest winners. And congrats to the 100 Elites who walked away with VIP tickets to the Bayou City Art Fesetival the following day. What a weekend!
