The Chicago Burbs' 2012 Yelp Games @Baby's Cheesesteak & Clubber's Pizza
With pickles tied to persons, eggshells in eyelashes and fierce competition at every angle, Chicagoland warmed up for the main event at The 2012 Yelp Games hosted by Baby's Cheesesteak & Clubber's Pizza (Official site, Facebook, Twitter) while pumping up with Philly Cheesesteak bicep curls and Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka & Frozen Lemonade lifts.
Yelpers beat the rain and brought the pain to any looking to take home a piece of the prize from a few of Yelp's funnest, filthiest and wackiest games, starting with the (always amusing) Pickle Swang, where participants must dangle a great, big gherkin between their legs while swinging the pickle back and forth through a series of hip-thrusts, in order to push a cup across the relay finish-line. Kudos to our winner Keith R, who proved he's no rookie when it comes to swangin' that thang!
Next up, Elites went head to egg in Egg Russian Roulette. Yelpers faced off against an opponent and a half dozen eggs—five of which are hard-boiled, and one of which is raw and lies in waiting as both opponents go back and forth, one by one smashing the eggs on their forehead until the loser gets creamed and the yolk is (literally) on them.
With Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka Frozen Lemonade (Facebook, Twitter) and Two Brothers Brewing Company (Facebook, Twitter) supplying the liquid courage, there was no shortage of guts when it came time for the final event, the Plush Horse Ice Cream Eating Contest (Official site, Facebook, Twitter). The competition was steep, but nothing could stop Yelpers from devouring these tasty treats, and in the end, Michele S and Karen G took home the gut-busting gold.
Elites fueled up in between battles and chowed down on bites of the best fried food the 'burbs have to offer. Emily B really dug Clubber's Pizza (Official site, Facebook, Twitter) and Baby's buffalo fries, but her ultimate fave was the Philly roll. "How can you not love a marriage between an egg roll and a Philly cheesesteak?" Good point, E!
