Portland Yelp Elites Gave a Hawaii-(High)-5-0 to Trader Vic's!
It may have been cool and gray outside on Saturday, October 13, 2012, but that didn't stop 100+ of Portland's Yelp Elite and guests from enjoying Trader Vic's warm and welcoming service at Yelp's Hawaii 5-0 Elite Event!
Yelp Elites dressed in their finest aloha/police attire for this tropical mash-up bash, and on the other side of the counter, as Mark S lauds, "the staff at Trader Vic's gave 1st Class service all around." This was evident in the display of food including spicy Korean beef tacos; Kashmiri lamb sliders; crispy prawns; Thai spring rolls; and Trader Vic's salad. With plate after plate of food rolling out from the kitchen, the staff did a great job of keeping those tables full! But it didn't stop at the food. As Shelly M swoons, "from the time we walked and were greeted with a tray of Mai Tai's I felt transported to the islands. The drinks were delish! The Chi Chi was a super yummy blend of vodka, coconut and pineapple juice!" Shelly has it right. Trader Vic's served up 3 rounds of sample cocktails including the original Trader Vic's Mai Tai, the Honi Honi (a bourbon island-style drink) and a classic Chi Chi. The bartenders did a heck of a job slinging those drinks.
Heather D calls it proper: "Mahalo nui loa! Ono food and drinks! Full table of pupus! So good! I could drink a million Chi Chis and never tire of them. So Ono... so ono." Mahalo to the folks that made this event no ka oi: Sage, Dean and the whole staff at Trader Vic's for not only setting up this event but keeping up with the crowd; Tom Maxwell Photography for the awesome photos; Mantern Kevin K for bringing it as always; and of course PDXYelpers.
You don't have to take my word for it. Check out the reviews and photos from this event. And what are you waiting for? Drop your review today! Oh, and you can find the photos on Facebook as well!
Until next time,
