Portland Elites Got It On Like Tron @ Gametime!

It was a sunny fall Sunday but that didn't stop over 150 of Portland's most elite from getting off the Portland grid and riding their lightcycles out to Lake Oswego's first ever elite event @ Gametime on Sunday, October 7, 2012! As Kristen M accurately sums up, it was "Sunday Funday" times 1,000!

Yelpers were welcomed in to Gametime's fantastic second floor banquet room complete with TV's showing the football games of the hour as well as a spread of scratch-made food and a bar serving up frosty OKTO Oktoberfest beer from Widmer Brothers Brewing. What better way to ease in to a Sunday afternoon than a cold brew, some bubbly and a huge buffet of hand-made pizzas (pepperoni, veggie, cheese, Hawaiian and more), Caesar salad, house-made BBQ potato chips with dip, hummus with pita and nachos?  How about round after round of this hearty fare! Surprised to hear they make scratch food? So was Peter T: "Anticipating the cuisine would be 'standard bar grub', I was delighted to be proven wrong, Gametime's food was over the top, and our host's generousity was evident in the quantity and quality." Preach it, Peter!

Once the party people got a chance to chow, the fine folks from Gametime adorned everyone with a 1up... or should that be 10up? Elites and guests got play cards stocked with free plays in the arcade downstairs as well as a chance to bowl a strike in the VIP bowling area. Gametime had an olympics, of sorts, where Yelpers could try a series of games, record their scores and submit to win a prize. Ron T took home $100 in play credits for his prowess on the machines. Let loose in the arcade, Valerie W's "inner child came out and had way too much fun playing skiball, baseball, football, and basketball toss." You can grow old, but never grow up!

Huge thanks to Gametime for hosting this video-game-tastic event, showing off some incredible food, and offering a fun day of play on the machines! Mad props to the Manterns for all the help, Kevin from Widmer Brothers for the tasty brew, and of course the Yelp Elite Squad for dressing up and bringing the party!

Don't just take my word for it. Peep the reviews and the photos. And don't forget to drop a review yourself! Also, are you following us on FB and teh Twitters?

Until next time, keep your game tight, players!
