Yelp's Thirst Quencher In Salt Lake City

Posted by Jeffrey

Salt Lake City is home to a bevvy of beverage options, so what better way to laud the liquids than a whole week of events designed to help Yelpers wet their whistle? Enter Yelp's Thirst Quencher.

On Monday, the event launched with a loud pop at CO2 Cafe. This brand new downtown destination has a whole assortment of handcrafted sodas. Yelpers filled the space to sample and sip their food and sodas, including the Hangsicle, an orange-dreamsicle soda named for Yelper Hang W who won the flavor idea contest. Yelpers grooved to the tunes from Life of The Party Entertainment and had a special treat from Samantha Calmes of Vinyl Tapestries.

Tuesday! That starts with T and stands for.. uh.. tea! The Tea Grotto hosted a cozy little group of Yelpers for a traditional Gaiwan tea tasting. Everyone nibbled, sipped, and shared their tealightful insights in this gorgeous and warm space while the rain spirinkled slowly outside.

On Wednesday it was all about the beer, and what SLC beverage event could go on without Squatters? The local beer brewer took Yelpers on a tour of their brewery. After enjoying some light appetizers, everyone gathered around the bar to sample the suds from light to dark. Hops were hopping, Yelpers were drinking, and everyone was reminded just how sensational Squatters really is.

Still thirsty on Thursday, Yelp's Thirst Quencher set up shop at Sammy's Cafe where pie shakes were the order of the day. It's exactly what it sounds like: the sweet, sweet marriage of pie and ice cream, blended into a shake. Yelpers who had RSVPd were treated to a free pie shake and could choose from a whole host of fruity, chocolatey, minty, or creamy flavors.

Saturday was the final satiation for the Salt Lake City Yelp crowd. It was back to beer and on to Uinta Brewing. Rubio's recently announced they were featuring beer from the local brewer to pair with the tasty tacos and fresh Mexican fare, so they fired up the fish tacos. Yelpers learned about the brewer and the restaurant and one lucky lass won a brewrery tour for herself and up to 15 pals.

At the end of the week, it was clear that Salt Lake is a terrific place to get a drink. From soda, to tea, to beer and pie shakes, this town has it all for the lovers of all things liquid. Don't take our word for it. You can see pics from the week's festivities here (or on the slideshow below) and read what yelpers had to say in their reviews here.

Bottoms up!

Yelp Orlando's Passport to Ivanhoe Village

Posted by Colleen Burns

Yelp's Passport to Ivanhoe Village spanned over fourteen days long and introduced tons of Yelpers to fab, local businesses. They checked everything from Burlesque, to eating and drinking and exploring art galleries. It was two weeks full of eleven events filled to the brim with culture and full of community!

PicMonkey Collage
Yelpers definitely celebrated and infiltrated Ivanhoe Village via cool & creative ways to connect people with great local businesses. The Elite Squad kicked it off while getting spoiled at Halo Salon and Spa the week before.

Ivanhoe Village is a great little neighborhood and this salon might have the best spot in town!  The view of the lake is beautiful scenery for getting your hair done.” – Kim W.

Monday was the launch of Passport and we got a taste of everything The Venue has to offer with The Venue Sampler. Noshing on Tako Cheena, sipping on Tito’s Vodka and snappin’ it up with SNAP! Studio Booth! We finished it off with a fabulous production from the staff at BabyBLUESTAR Productions!

“I had a freaking blast at the Venue, they have some really awesome unique things going on.” – Justina N.

Tuesday we checked out Teals Twisted Bliss - a Groovy and Hip Ice Cream Joint serving up Soft Serve Ice Cream, Italian Ice, Gelati, floats, milk shakes, coffee, tea and hot chocolate! YUM!

PicMonkey Collage3
Thursday we celebrated the unveiling of the official Ivanhoe Village poster by Ken Bowser at Twelve21 Gallery. We enjoyed snacks, popped some Kernel Encore classic and holiday flavors and sipped on wine, beer and Tito’s Vodka libations.

"This place is so cute! Such a small cute gallery with awesome art. This night was to showcase the brand new poster for Ivanhoe Village. It was absolutely GORGEOUS! The artist was very talented with all the different art pieces he was showcasing." - Kevin Charles M

Friday we rocked pumpkin bombs during Happy Hour at local watering hole, The Hideaway.

Saturday we helped celebrate Orlando Repertory Theatre’s 10th Birthday, and the Orlando Philharmonic's 20th birthday with a free concert in the park!

Monday we kicked off another week with an evening at The Imperial, which is located inside Washburn Imports, yes a bar inside a furniture store that carries amazing, hand-picked pieces from Asia!

Tuesday we went behind the scenes of Steadfast Brand and enjoyed Ivanhoe After Hours. We also learned about a great movement our local community is running at FL Hospital. Dr. Karen Tilstra, the Director of the Florida Hospital Innovation Lab let us inside the lab and shared tons of great, inspiring info.

Friday we joined the Orlando Critical Mass crew and met at Retro City Cycles before peddle off!

Saturday we did a warm and fuzzie! We hit up Homegrown Local Food Co-Op for a Cash Mob! Yes, It was a crowd of yelpers who get together and went on a collective spending spree at one of our favorite local business.

We closed it out with a Sunday Funday fav, a Brunch Buffet at White Wolf Café.

Huge thanks to all of the sponsors, locations and Yelpers who came out to celebrate Ivanhoe Village and a special thanks to Scottie Campbell, the Executive Director of Ivanhoe Village Main Street! Much local love to all! Photography props to Jim White for sanppin' the events away and yelper, Mariacristina N for sharing her photog skills!

A Ghoula of Monstrous Proportions in New Orleans!

Posted by Joi

It was a dark and not so stormy night... Over 100 Elites and fiends–we mean friends– crawled out of their coffins and dragged their bodies to Yelp's Horrific Halloween Ghoula at 711 Bourbon Heat on Thursday night.

In the creepy courtyard, our guests hung and engaged in a variety of games to awaken the mischievous little demons inside of us. Everyone was a winner at spooky bingo, a trick that got us meeting and mingling. The prize? Tiny costumed rubber duckies and, most importantly, new friends! Meanwhile, DJ Cameron provided the beats for the monster mash upstairs. There were tons of treats provided by the sorcerers in the kitchen at Bourbon Heat and it got us gobblin': salad, pasta, hummus and a variety of passed apps– of course the gator bites were a big hit. The good ol ‘days of trading pop rocks for sugar daddys were here again for us as we rummaged through Yelp or Treat bags. Witches brews & potent potions included complimentary Stella on tap, well drinks, pumpkin pie shots, and monstrous green and orange specialty cocktails.

It's no Halloween party without the costumes and holy ghosts did everyone dress in the spirit of the evening as per the instructions to don their zombie chic, ghostly gowns, witchy couture, monster merriest and beastly best! Prizes were awarded to the best of the bunch. Vickie L took top prize for her gorgeous peacock attire and runners up were Scott S's latex-suited superhero, Chamberlaine B's homemade human piñata, and a very creatively decorated owl. Prizes included: a night of bottle service at Bourbon Heat and portraits painted by our resident artiste Elite, Re Howse.

Thank you to the spectacular staff at Bourbon Heat and thank y'all for your spine-tingling presence. Now, don't be scared to see the rest of the photos by Richard Strasbourg on flickr and read the reviews.

Your ghastly CM,

Joi B (as Joan H, fiending for braaaains!)

Evento Elite "A tutto tondo"

Posted by Kristina

Sono state offerte birre Castello e altre bevande.

English Version

On Tuesday night Florence turned Yelpy with the event "A Tutto Tondo", an event with lots of sponsors and in collaboration with The Florentine. With a round car (500 fiat vintage), round bagels, and round fruit. The event was in an open space, a fruit and vegetable warehouse, with lots to eat and drink.

Panino tondo presented it's new Sandwich DOP, with pear, pecorino cheese and a Tuscan ham, and to wash down the great panini, Castello beer offered their new beers. Not only we like to eat at our Yelp events, but the selection of the food is important, and the healthier the better, so Conti warehouse offered tastes of their fresh produce with special dips!

The event was a success also thanks to "Paola" the little red 500 fiat, everybody had a chance to take a picture with her, and get a true feeling of what cars were like in the past. Thanks also to our official photographer Daniele A. There were also some issues of The Florentine, a great magazine to learn about Florence, just a great read in general.

A big thank you to The Florentine, Panino Tondo, Birre Castello, Conti ortofrutta and 500 Touring Club. If you want to hear more about the event you can read the reviews, and thread and see more photos.

Yelp-tasting @ Jebena

Posted by Pohman

On Monday, October 29th, a small gang of Stockholm Elites kick-started their week by trying out the menue at the Eritrean restaurant Jebena. This little treasure is hidden way down in the subway, and who would have guessed it turnes into a club during weekends! However, we were here on a Monday and the mission for the evening was to go through the courses Awaze Kulva, Gored Gored, Zigni, Allicha, Hamli and Shiro with the sourdough-pancake Ingera (we tried both the normal version and the gluten-free original). The courses were carfully evaluated and rated in order of preference - see the result here. For more pictures, check out our albums on Flickr and Facebook, plus our Instagram. A big thanks to Kibra, our friendly host at Jebena who gave such a warm welcome and served the most lovely Eritrean coffee after dinner! See it being pored out of an "jebena" - Eritrean coffee-pot - in the picture above ;)

Yelp Tucson Elites Sip N Savor Local Flavor @ Epazote Kitchen + Cocktails

Posted by Bella

Last week, Tucson Elites and their guests gathered for an evening of divine gourmet eats, drinks and surprises at Yelp's Sip N Savor Local Flavor Elite event at Epazote Kitchen + Cocktails located at the Hilton El Conquistador. Guests were greeted by some rather tall, colorful dames and escorted to the outdoor soiree! Per Michael F, it was a night of "great atmosphere, wonderful weather, women on stilts, lights, sangria, tequila, and amazing food."

Epazote Collage 1.2
As elites and their guests made their way to the patio they were met with food stations galore! Live music by Rumbo Nuevo  set a whimsical tone on the patio and red and white sangria was poured while guests enjoyed firsts, seconds and thirds at various food stations. For Molly H, there "was no time to waste as the tasting stations beckoned me with cool crisp salads and a warming green chile pork stew. A rich, decadent short rib perched on goat milk mashed potatoes gave new meaning to comfort food. The chefs manning the tables were gregarious and generous."

Epazote Collage 2

Yelpers couldn't get enough of the mouth-watering delights. Cindy N loved it all– Everything from the ceviche, to the pork stew, short ribs, seared mountain trout, the salad and desserts was "pure melt in your mouth delight."  While, Aaron G "wouldn't mind filling up the hotel pool" with the green chili pork "and jumping right in,Jenny Y left her heart at the dessert station: "The pecan cheesecake completed my sampling and I think I fell in love!" Southern Wine and Spirits poured Patron Tequila all night long. XO Cafe was the popular choice according to Joshua B. "Who would have thought that coffee flavored Patron would be so good? I wish I had gotten second on that one before they ran out!" What can we say, yelpers were thirsty!

Not only were Elites treated to first-class bites, beverages and entertainment, but they also had a chance to show their creative flare during a mask decorating contest for a chance to win a one-night stay at the the El Conquistador Resort, a dinner for two at Epazote Kitchen + Cocktails or a pair of tickets to the World Margarita Challenge! Three lucky yelpers each took home a prize while the rest of the yelpers were a glittery mess!Epazote Mask Making Collage

An Elite event wouldn't be complete without a SURPRISE! Just as yelpers thought the evening was coming to an end, a The Orbital Evolution Hoop Troupe stepped in with a mesmerizing LED hula-hoop performance

Last but not least, Elites spent the evening mingling, catching up and getting to know new members of the Elite squad!

A huge thanks to the entire team at Epazote Kitchen + Cocktails and the marketing team at the Hilton El Conquistador for a gorgeous and decadent evening and for truly going above and beyond in every way. Another enormous thanks to Southern Wine and Spirits for pouring tequila all night long, to Rumbo Nuevo for their whimsical guitar entertainment, Orbital Evolution: Hula Hoop Troupe for a brilliant performance and to Pedro Romano of Pedrographer for capturing it all on camera!

And yes, I woke up with glitter in my hair from mask-making, but a smile on my face from Bella and the crew at Epazote who pampered us to delicious excess! Saba B, Tucson Elite Member.

Everyday Heroes In Phoenix Come Together At Yelp Helps

Yelp’s everyday heroes who were eager to learn about volunteer opportunities, gathered at the ASU Art Museum on October 23rd for an evening of philanthropy, food and fun! Currently in its third consecutive year, Yelp Helps is a party centered around philanthropy and lets Valley non-profits educate the local community on their mission and ways yelpers can give back through volunteerism. This year, we connected yelpers with over 26 non-profits, making this one super night!

Event collage seven

Throughout the night, yelpers mixed and mingled with 26 non-profits against the backdrop of the ASU Art Museum in Tempe, AZ. Yelpers were greeted by lively music from a local band and recipient of Ear Candy charities and received a bingo card and Yelp tote after they checked in. Once inside, several non-profits greeted yelpers in the museum’s courtyard and the night only continued from there!

Event collage 1

During the evening, Simon Crown crooned the crowd while yelpers chatted with the American Cancer Society, Arizona Consortium for the Arts, Arizona Humane Society, ASU Lodestar Center, ASU Art Museum, Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness, Beer for Brains Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Arizona, Children's Museum of Phoenix, City of Hope, Ear Candy Charity, Future For Kids, Gen United, Keep Phoenix Beautiful, Local First, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, March of Dimes, Panacea Animal Wellness Sanctuary, Phoenix Art Museum, Pueblo Grande Museum and Archeological Park, Relay For Life, Salvation Army, The Children's Heart Foundation, Tovrea Carraro Society and Welcome to America. In between conversations with the NPOs, they stopped by the Social Chimp Photobooth and got their super hero face painted by Candy Face Paint!

Event Collage Two

Yelp events aren't complete without food and drinks and luckily Yelp Helps had plenty of both! Hungry from all the chatting, yelpers enjoyed music from DJ HartBreaks while they munched on fish tacos from Rubios, pizza from NYPD, fruity ice from Rita's, PopChips, KIND bars, pasta from Wildflower and burgers from Lucky Break! All the food and conversation with non-profits made yelpers thirsty, so they quenched their thirst with pumpkin margaritas from Cruz, Chambord lemonades, beer from Old World Brewery and lemonade from Wildflower.

Yelpers left with new non-profit friends and a new awareness for all the good NPOs are doing in the Valley. Those who completed the bingo card with signatures from at least 10 non-profits, entered a raffle for prizes including gift cards from Gelato Spot, tickets to Cupcake Love-In and gift cards to the ASU Art Museum store. Non-profits left with lists full of new volunteers and everyone left with a heart full from an evening with a great cause. Take a look at the pictures and reviews from the evening!

Livin' La Dolce Vita at Yelp's Molto Italiano Masquerade!

Posted by Nique!

East Bay Yelpers got to experience a new kind of "blind" date at Yelp's Molto Italiano Masquerade @ Caffe Venezia, where over 200 Elites donned mysterious masques for a late-night affair celebrating la dolce vita with sultry cocktails, robust wine, Fellini films, magic tricks, and of course...a savory, saucy Italian feast! Masqcollage1

Caffe Venezia's authentic ambience was reminiscent of romantic evenings abroad for Jen C, who wore her wedding gown to this classy YEE. "It made me feel like I was back in Italy on my honeymoon," with a "big fountain in the center, colorful Italian houses with balconies painted around the restaurant, and an Italian movie playing on the wall. The clothesline with laundry hanging was a really fun touch!" Masqcollage3
Guests were greeted with frosty mugs of Linden Street Brewery's Deep Roots Red ale, along with made-to-order cocktails compliments of GreenBar Collective's organic Ixa tequila and Solerno blood orange liqueur. Sarapo Family Wines provided classic Italian varietals grown in California, the perfect pairing for the ricotta & eggplant caponata crostini, wagyu beef and niman pork meatballs, and luscious scoops of amaretto and rum-soaked tiramisu from Caffe Venezia's kitchen. All this, provided by a staff that Troy M notes were "remarkably nimble and always smiling in a crowd that just perfectly filled the place," adding  "it's no easy task to wrangle that many Yelpers, let alone in such a gracious way." Masqcollage2

Perugina's famous Baci chocolates was present with generous samples of their white and dark chocolate hazelnut truffles, while magician Johnny Kearns earned oohs and aahs from dazzled on-lookers. Using Caffe Venezia's fresco paintings as a backdrop, Snap Yourself photo booth kept Elites captivated all night with an array of props "for some great quick costume changes," tips Daphne BMasqcollage4

"I truly felt like I was dining on the streets of Italy," Surge C attests, "from the clothesline to the painted cobblestones, and the beautiful fountain, everything was perfect for a masquerade evening." Audrey G was so inspired, she "even made a wish and tossed a coin into the fountain." We hope she wished for more Yelp Elite Events like this one...

Yelp Cleveland's Monster Mash @ Capitol Theatre!

Posted by Cara

Last week over 50 Elite boos and ghouls donned their fangs, wigs and spookiest attire for a chilling evening at Yelp's Monster Mash at Capitol Theatre

Our gracious host opened the curtains of their historic first and second floor lobbies to reveal lots of spook-tacular delights! Guests dined on gruesomely good pies from local shop, Rize Pizzeria. But these guys didn't serve up any ordinary 'zza. Their fresh toppings included meaty combinations of pulled pork with BBQ chips, and even greeted the not-so-meaty with interesting veggie pairings that yepler Suzanne B loved: "Hello delicious spinach artichoke slice!" Capitol Theatre also offered up free bags of popcorn to all, because what the hull is a movie theater without our favorite buttery, salty snack?

Those who weren't thirsty for blood opted for complimentary, local beers, wines and sodas from the concession stand to quench their urges. Meanwhile, guests wandered upstairs to find a candy bar overflowing with eerie sweets and classic treats. Guests got to build their own bags full of sugary goodies to take home, which may have been Lisa H's favorite part: " I loaded up on my favorite treats since I am too "old" to go door-to-door anymore. A sugar coma and a pound of candy later..."

Also upstairs was a build-your-own mask station and the epically talented Kylee Cook who was offering up free zomb-i-fying makeup for those who didn't have time to dress up. Afterwards, guests headed over to the murderous booking station photobooth where Ackey+Z Photography snapped scary-good shots of all the boo-tiful guests! Check 'em all out HERE

Add all that to Halloween-themed bowling, movie passes and prize packs for check-ins and best costume and you have yourself a winning party! Congrats to yelper Habby H who won the check-in/photo contest, and Kaitlin D, who took home the grand prize for her Foxy Brown costume!

Check out the event reviews or feel free to share your own thoughts on Yelp's Monster Mash HERE—we love your feedback!

Special thanks to our host, Capitol Theatre and their staff, Rize Pizzeria, Kylee Cook, Ackey+Z Photography, a very helpful friend and of course, all you Elites who make everything fun!

Until next time,

Yelp Glasgow Presents: Less Business, More Pleasure @ SocietyM

Posted by Chris Docherty

The papers had been filed, the nubers checked and rechecked, the books closed and the office door locked... It was time for Yelp Glasgow to get started with Less Business and More Pleasure at the classiest work-share in all of Glasgow... the SocietyM!

  IMGP4206  IMGP4020

While the date was frightful, the party was not as a whole host of spectacular (spooktacular?) sponsors rolled out some quite outstanding samples for a 150 plus strong bunch of veteran Yelpers (you know who you are!) and newbies alike (ahoy to thee!).

  IMGP4155 IMGP3957

With beery tipples being tipled by the likes of the lovely Hannah from BrewDog, who rolled up bottles of their iconic Punk IPA and sublime 5am Saint, as well as David and John from Heineken, who supplied folks with an outstanding range from Tiger to Heineken, (with some Desperados thrown in for good measure!) Yelpers were certainly not short of a liquid libation to soothe the stresses of the week!

  IMGP4074  IMGP4039

Not to be outdone by the beer department, the spirit folks got into the... eh... spirit? of things as a couple of Yelp favorites once again plied us with a fine range of whisky, gin and other fine things! With Grant from Luscious Liquids on great form, Yelpers were treated to samples of Arran Whisky, Stroh with hot chocolate and Brockman's Gin amoung other things! Meanwhiles, accross the desk Mark and Matt from the quite awesome Good Spirit Co did their usual and supplied Yelpers with a stunning range of spirits direc from their underground cave of splendid on Bath Street.

    IMGP4172  IMGP4096

The invite to this event said nibbles. We thing the food sponsors took this a a challenge as one and all they rolled up with a stupid amunf of grub for Yelpers to indulge their tummies and taste buds in. First up the lovely peeps from La Tasca treated us all with a wide range of tapas incluing meats, cheeses and a quite bizarre but (i'm assured!) terribly tasty black paella (which they'd love some feedback on if you have it!). On the other side of the table, the lovely folks from Vespbar kept the piping hot pizza coming as they delivered pie upon pie of tasty Italian godness straight from their Drury Street location. If that wasn't enough, Iain and his merry Mexican loving crew rocked up from Pinto with a veritable banquet of fiery, meaty, saucy (ooh err!) and cheesy goodness!

  IMGP4213   IMGP4132   IMGP3996

And if there was enough space for desert, we pretty much had that covered to with a couple of Glasgow's finest sweet toothed businesses chucking tasty, tasty calories in our general direction. First up the Flamingo Bakery reduced many a Yelper to a pool of drool on the floor as they served up a range of mini cupcakes. As if that wasn't enough, Jackie and her gang from Nucoco were waiting in the wings to knock 'em dead with a range of her inventive and stunningly gorgeous chocolate. My oh my!

IMGP3969 IMGP4078

And that was that... or was it? Nah, of course not! As a wee treat for the men folks  (beacuse they're worth it) the effortlessly stylish chaps from Mo Hair were on hand to do the doo's of the dapper dudes in the room (try saying that after a few!) with some quick styling and hints and tips on products! More? Yip as once again we were lucky enough to welcome along the boys from Black Hearted Press/Glasgow Comic Con to share their knowledge on the currently exploding comic scene in Glasgow!

IMGP4144 IMGP4015

OK, so none of this would have been possible if not for the support from the fantastically stylish and enthusuastic SocietyM and their Glasgow manager Amanda. From day one she showed a real desire to make this event happen and welcome Yelpers into their amazing venue. If you have questions for her about anything regarding this joint, then she welcomes your contact!

Finally, there are some folks who deserve a shout out for their help on the night. First off, our resident Yelp Glasgow photo-dude Mr Alasdair Watson once again out did himself with some cracking pics. Get yourself along to our Facebook page for a nosey and get commenting! We were also very fortunate to have Row H and Alex S up from Leeds and London respetively. Big ol' thanks to these guys!

Yelp Indy Paints The Town Red!

Posted by Brittany

As soon as the clock struck six, Circle City elites began the red carpet strut into Mavris Arts & Event Center in downtown Indianapolis for Yelp Paints The Town Red! Jessica H counted her ylessings: "I was really glad that I was able to get in early with my Elite status and try a majority of the vendors before the event really filled up!" More than 850 yelpers filled every nook and cranny of the three floors of the repurposed warehouse. Yelpers took the "scarlet soiree" to heart by sporting their finest ruby garb.

While waiting in the line that wrapped around the block, Yelpers were able to watch local graffiti artist, The Fab Crew, create a yelpy city skyline. "It was definitely exciting to see the line outside snaked down the block of fellow revelers about to get their Yelp on!" -Jesamyn R. Once inside, the first floor boasted a crimson photo booth by Vintage Originals of Franklin, Indiana, red velvet cake pops by Parcha Sweets, Sailor Jerry cider cocktails, massages by Studio 2000 and samples of Sun King brews. The music and party vibes rose as yelpers made their way to the second floor for more morsel munching and cocktail sipping!

With Sorgrhum margaritas in one hand and sea salt caramels by The Best Chocolate in Town in the other, Yelpers stopped by interactive booths including a commuter calculator by Urbn Dsgn, paint-by-numbers wall with NUVO, Yelp Shops Local chalkboard and projected films by Indy Film Fest with stadium seats by People for Urban Progress. Yelp shot glasses were filled with LICK ice cream flavors like milk chocolate goat cheese, coconut curry and bourbon maple syrup. On the savory side, Yelpers nibbled on Just Pop In! popcorn, U-Relish Farm's dips, Circle City Soup's black bean hummus and french onion soup. The beer was uh flowing! Blue Moon, Fountain Square Brewing, Flat 12 Bierwerks, Triton Brewing Company and Upland Brewing Company kept Yelp Brewmeisters like Heather H smiling: "It was great to see the wonderful folks from so many of our local breweries out!  Jason B and I already frequent those on a more-than-we-should basis!" Yelppaintsthetownred3With two floors in their tummies, Yelpers sloshed their way to the third floor to get close to music magician and DJ extroidinaire, Kyle L of Cultural Cannibals. The Art Press boasted a line the entire evening with their screenprinting station and unique Hoosier Yelp t-shirt design. Harrison Bourbon, Wilks and Wilson Syrups and Copper Still Kitchen and Bar kept the drinks flowing with options like moonshine cocktails in a mason jar! Kincaid's Meat Market made the carnivores' day with a Red Meat Station featuring filet and bacon burger nibbles. There was no shortage of Kodak moments! Anna L's photostrip from Happy Snaps Photo Booth is now "sitting proudly in an empty frame!" U-Doodle's doodling station had yelpers showing off their artistic side and raising money for local urban entrepreneur starter, Dreamapolis. With Jonathan Frey Photography and Film's Circle City film playing on the wall, chalk artist/performer, The Speedscaper, turned an 8'x6' canvas into a city skyline masterpiece in less than an hour! Frittle Candy and 240Sweet eased the sugar cravings in the house with nostalgic candies like peanut brittle and an artisan marshmallow bar.

But don’t just take our word on the night’s awesomeness, you can read all the reviews right here. You can also check out the other cool pics by photographer extraordinaire Eric T (Solar Flare Photography) on the Official Yelp Flickr page and partytastic video by Indever Studios!

A special "thank you" to the fabulous staff at Mavris Arts & Event Center and the 40+ businesses and organizations that made this event a hit! You painted the town red!

Fort Worth Yelpers Hit Solid Gold @ The Gold Standard!

Because nothing glitters quite like the obvious (gold!), Fort Worth Elite yelpers shimmied into their best golden gear and headed down to the appropriately named Gold Standard for our first-ever Gold Party. Solid!

"Wow...My first Elite Event...Epic" spun Heather S. "This divey little bar is a diamond in the rough!" Thanks to Coors Original yellabellies from Tenth & Blake and high-octane libations from Partida Tequila (jalapeno infused anybody?), the good times rolled and it was almost expected when the Gold Standard Minotaur wandered in for photo ops, it only seemed fitting.

And Harry O ascended into the evening: "I have only read about Minotaurs being a Greek Myth, but I must say I partied with one on this fantastic night and I wasn't dreaming. The gold, and yellow theme was a kickass idea. At the end of the night, I ended up with a crown (oh the joys of belonging to royalty). And I LOVED the shot (Jalapeno Infused Partida Blanco, Agave Nectar, Lime), the slow burn after downing it was a good touch. I love anything spicy. This was my fav!"

Ultimately, maybe it was David P who summed it all up: "Yelp is hitting on all cylinders in the 817!!!"

Until next time, SYOY!

Yelp's Texas on Tap 2012

Posted by kelly stocker

Craft beer is all the rage and Austin's got it bad. Or ohhhh so good.  TOT3

The Austin brewery scene is exploding with awesomeness and we wanted to make sure that Austin yelpers were able to get a taste of the good stuff in a way that kept their wallets fat and their craft brew love strong. Austin's Texas on Tap featured 20 local bars offering their fave three Texas taps for a discounted price for a week.

TOT1We started off the the week with a Texas on Tap Kickoff at the illustrious County Line on the Lake. Their delicious barbecue, desserts and gorgeous space were the perfect way to spend a Sunday Funday. The kickoff featured gawgeous beer from Circle BreweryRogness BreweryIndependence Brewery and Ranger Creek Brewery. We had some sweet sweet tunes from Kathy Murray & Bill TOT2 Jones and fabulous pictures from Jennifer Byer. Take a look at the fabulous reviews on the event listing.

Speaking of events, we rampaged the town for four nights straight. Destroying our liver at the CMYE Downtown DYL, free apps with our taps at Tuesday Brewsday at J Blacks, enjoying Wine, Beer & a Cheese pairing Wednesday and a full on bar crawl on the ATX Party Bus that took us from north to south Austin in a blaze of dance tunes and disco lights.

Yelp Invades Plant City

Posted by BrettNehls

Plant City is commonly known for two things: 1) The place to go for the Strawberry Festival in March and 2) A town you pass over while traveling between Tampa and Orlando. However, after Yelp Tampa Bay's Elite Event – Yelp's Berry Good at The Corner Store, eyes have been opened to the greatness that can be found in this quaint, little downtown. The aforementioned Corner Store and Parksdale Farm Market partnered up on this event to help improve P.C.'s "cool/hip/awesome" reputation, and they did just that.

"I have to hand it to Yelp, Parksdale, and the Corner Store for making our Yelp Elite event one of a kind. Never did I think a Yelp event could make me drive 30 minutes away especially on my favorite TV night of the week." Thursday night may be must-see TV, but you can't DVR a Yelp event, and Diana C concurs about her decision to venture down I-4. "However, with the promise of fresh food and a good time I made the drive to the historic district of Plant City... and the event was right up my alley."

Ariana L echoes the statements from her fellow Elite member, "I had a great time at this event! It was a smaller, more intimate setting, which I really enjoyed.  The Corner Store is on a main street, in a downtown kind of area in Plant City (I don't venture this way often)... but it's so cute! We pulled up and were in love with the place!" It's hard to walk into The Corner Store and avoid using the word "cute" to describe it's vibe... even for the manliest of men. In addition to the restaurant itself, A-plus goes on to gab about the "live music from an awesome entertainer with a beautiful voice! The atmosphere was cozy and homey – so inviting!"

No Elite event is complete without tasty treats, as Meghann A is accustomed to! "And for the menu of the evening? Wow. Now this is the type of food I'm all about. Everything was so fresh, light, and delicious. The meal was full of vibrant colors, healthy proteins, and was so well-balanced, which gets major bonus points coming from this health-nut. Nothing was heavy and I felt I could have kept eating all night." Meghann also added that she will be running a half-ironman within a few days after the event, so when it comes to eating healthy, her judgement is to be trusted! If she wins the race, we all know she can credit the delectables from this evening for fueling her home.

Parksdale Farm Market is incredibly famous for its delicious strawberries, which means countless treats in which this red berry is the primary flavor/ingredient. Cari E discovered this to be true, with the grand finale of the evening. "At the end they brought out the milkshakes, I had the strawberry and my friend had the pumpkin pie. Both of us were blown away. I don't think I'd ever had a real, fresh strawberry milkshake. I would like to have one of those every day for the rest of my life. It was outstanding. My friend loved the pumpkin pie shake as well. Really great stuff." You know what they say, a strawberry milkshake a day makes general unhappiness in life go away."

Yelp Elite events range from big-to-small, from loud-to-relaxing, and from acres-to-intimate. The one constant, is that they are just full of plain awesomeness. The generosity from our hosts at Yelp's Berry Good cannot be spoken about enough. You've won us over, and redefined an entire city in the eyes of Yelp Tampa Bay. Good on you, Corner Store and Parksdale... we'll see you on Yelp!

Sacramento Elites Take Over The Family-Friendly Delta Fall Harvest Festival!

Posted by Alex L

There is no better indication that Fall has arrived that a giant festival to celebrate all the season has to offer. Such was the case last week, when over 200 Elite yelpers and their families joined a cornucopia of other Sacramento-area residents and yelpers for the Delta Fall Harvest Festival at picturesque Scribner Bend Vineyards!

While many Yelp-oriented events are all about adult fun, this one highlighted activities for the whole family. These included thirst-quenching Rene's Lemonade, a horshoe throwing contest, photos from Johnny Rocketbooths, Fantasy Face Painting, bluegrass tunes from Homegrown Sounds, desserts galore from Champagne Wishes and Chocolate Dreams, and last but not least, a standout buffet of edible fare from Fresh & Easy.

Fresh & Easy was easily the hit of the event, with an impressive buffet selection of Thanksgiving-themed, easy-to-serve meals that had the hungry crowd salivating. From their turkey to the stuffing to the green beans to the cranberry sauce, it was all a huge hit that made it easy for yelpers to know where they are buying their holiday meals! Reports Sherry M, "Fresh & Easy served up some great grub and I especially loved the cranberry sauce; I'd really liked that recipe! I brought my dog Abby who especially enjoyed all the droppings on the ground after people ate!"

Even though the kids were in tow, there was still plenty of more mature fun to be had.The vineyard served $5 wine flights from within its historic barn, the Delta Historical Society educated folks on the rich history of the Delta, and local artists provided paintings for sale. Butter Me Up Organics, Stella & Dot, Scentsy Candles and Gigi Hill Handbags also provided plenty of ideas for holiday gift-giving.

We'll leave the final summary to Elite member Ida H:
"Scribner Bend was like a relaxing oasis. Canopies were set up covering multiple booths displaying their wares and we were able to personally talk to most of the vendors.  There was jewelry, candy, popcorn, wine related gifts, artwork, a lemonade stand, fruits and vegetable stand, and music provided by "Homegrown Sounds". The Fresh & Easy booth were advertising their heat and serve foods, providing a nice buffet for people to sample. You can also read my Review of the Day if you want to know more about this grocery store chain!"

Best of all, this event encouraged a ton of sign-ups for The Salvation Army of Sacramento County and its Angel Tree toy program. Check out all the photos on Flickr

Hope to see you again next year!

Yelp Cincy's Cheers to Chocolate Elite Event!

Posted by Cindy

Chocoholics unite! Yelp Cincy's community gathered together for a sneak peak preview of The Cincinnati Chocolate Festival Monday night. There were delicious hor d'oeuvres, beer, wine, chocolate martini's, and a spread of chocolate that was out of this world!

It was Yelp's Cheers to Chocolate Elite Event at the EQ Cooking School inside the Party Source. The night began with a chocolate feast! Chocolate concoctions from Sweet Petit, Ruth Hunt, Aglamesis Brothers’, Edible Arrangements, Graeters, Esther Price, J. Annette's Cheesecakes, Cupcake Crazy, Chocolats Latour, and the Spice & Tea Exchange were all present at this chocolatey fiesta!

Jackie S is in sugar shock, "Choc-tastic choc-mania that set a new bar for chocoholics everywhere! I still haven't picked my jaw up off the floor since I saw the display of chocolate bon-bons and drinks available last night!"

From truffles, to cupcakes, cheesecakes, and even chocolate's with chili flakes, we had it all!

Save room for the savory items! The EQ Cooking School also chimed in with chocolate themed appetizers including Coffee and Ancho Chili Crusted Beef Tenderloin topped with Maple Sweet Potato Puree, Cocoa Nib & Pecan Crusted Goat Cheese, Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, and Pulled Pork Sliders with a Hint of Cocoa.

But don't forget to wash it down with Grover's infamous Godiva martini. After that demo, Sam T "already has plans to make it at home!" SO good!

Yelpers also got to choose to pair their chocolate with an awesome Coconut brew f rom the local Great Crescent Brewery, or a deep chocolately red from Carnivor.

We closed the night by raffling off two pairs of free tickets to the Cincinnati Chocolate Festival and sending Yelpers home with full and happy tummies!

"Delectable, Fabulous, Magnificent, and Delicious are all words I experienced tonight at this sweet event and Cincy Cindy was the perfect hostess!" Why, thank you Ann L!

Yelp's Gone The Whole 51%

Posted by Rowena Harris

Bourbon 1

Last Thursday evening the grain mixtures, in the most part, may have been at least 51% corn, and the night air 90% precipitous but the Yelpers of Leeds were 100% treated to yet another exquisite outing in the latest installment of Elite Event goodness. You may be wondering, 'What are these epic carousals, of which I hear about after the fact?' Often, it seems, the question of 'how did I not hear about this before? Why didn't I get to come?' arises. Well, if you're not down with the Yelping crowd, you'll won't get in on the guest list – these events are exclusively for the most active and engaged members of the Yelp community! So there's only one way in, and once beyond the borders, you'll never want to leave...

Bourbon 2

This time around, we got our mouths 'round a right load of whiskey, being welcomed into the cosy upper echelon of Hirst's Yard, that is 51 Percent; a dedicated and passionate drinkery, and Leeds' only dedicated bourbon bar. On arrival guests were gifted a delecatable bourbon and champagne cocktail, complete with whiskey in which fresh mint leaves and sugar had been soaking over night. Everyone had a chance to mix and mingle, whilst awaiting the remainder of the party to arrive, and took in the surroundings – lovingly retro-fied with faux art nouveau prints and art deco lamp fixtures.

Bourbon 3

To begin the evening Dan Alonso, manager of 51 Percent, introduced himself to everyone, explained his concept for the bar, and his infectious passion for the drink that is bourbon, whilst stood in front of their impressively extensive back bar. Lesson number one: if anyone has even the slightest incling to imbibe this ambrosial import, you now know where the first port of call lies. Once the introductions were done, the tastings began, and everyone began to really get into the spirit of things. Lesson number two: why 51%? Because to be classed as a bourbon, the grain mixture has to be 51% corn. Every day's a school day.

Bourbon 4

First up on the tasting trail was Buffalo Trace, an 8 year old bourbon of 40%, with a good level of sweetness and wood, which is an ideal entry level bourbon, that covers a few bases. Once a healthy measure was poured for all, details of the drink were explained, and everyone took a sip. Not only is this a great bourbon for newcomers to American whiskies, but it also makes for good cocktails. Before folks could blink, Dan handed around the next tipple, Mellow Corn – a whiskey made of 80% corn, bottled to an abv of 50%. As a secondary sip, it was quite distinctive to the previous sample, being as it has a slightly warmer, harsher taste than the prior, but very light, with hints of wood, nuts, and violets.  According to our host, some say it’s best when you add a tablespoon of sherry to the bottle. Lesson number three: Try a bottle of Mellow Corn, with added sherry, for your Christmas tipple.

Bourbon 5

And lastly, for the first half of the tastings, came a generous dram of Pikesville Rye – a rye whiskey (meaning it has been made with a minimum of 51% rye, rather than 51% corn), which is a great base for classic whiskey cocktails such as the Manhattan. Again, everyone was able to appreciate how it differed to those sampled before, given its spicy and peppery flavour on the palate, with a sharp, fruity nose, and a slightly oak tinged taste.

Bourbon 6

Suitably silly on some sumptuous sips, everyone to rest and reprieve, Yelpers were introduced to a fantastic set of songs by Leeds' based singer songwriter Steve Wilson. Complete with an arresting cover of Black Hole Sun, his lyrical musings and sweet serenade had everyone captivated by the interlude. Once suitably lulled into a chill, the second set of tastings began, to a thirsty crowd.

Bourbon 7

To kickstart the second half, Knob Creek was poured out, offering up a sweet, strong and spicy taster at 50% abv. It's aged for 9 years in batches of less than 150 barrels, and boasts an intense warmth, noticeable immediately before touches of ginger, caramel and vanilla very subtley appear during the finish. As if that wasn't enough of the good stuff, Dan dished out the finalé in this epic spirit sampling – Jacquins Rock ‘N’ Rye. He described it as almost like a boutique version of Southern Comfort – a blend of whiskey, oranges and sugar. The oranges and chunks of rock candy are left in the bottle, sweetening the whiskey the longer the bottle is kept, and much mention was made of this being an alternative to sherry, come Christmas time. It's thicker on the tastebuds than a regular whiskey, which works well when mixed or sipped neat.

Bourbon 9

But was the fun finished by this point? It most certainly was not. Finally, to finish, folks were given beer and poker chips, to bet Kentucky Derby style on the gee gees! Projecting three antiquated horse races onto 51%'s big screen, Yelpers were given odds lisitngs and tokens, to win a bottle of Champagne in this last carousal of the night. With fever and fervour, everyone tensely watched the races play out, shaking their betting sheets and cursing or cheering their choices. The level of intensity reached boiling point at the final race, where lucky (or supremely savvy) Christian H came up trumps overall, with his final bet accruing him the leading number of chips.

Bourbon 10And so, it was on that racy note that the event came to an end, with everyone fully charged to face the rains and head homeward. As ever, a huge thanks goes out to all who attended, Matthew Kitchen for his lightening fast and fabulous snaps, Brooklyn’s bartender Alex Carr who helped out on the night (and who will be doing a bartender exchange with Jess from Dick and Jane’s in Brooklyn at the end of November!) but notably to Dan of 51% for his warm welcome, fabulous hosting, and enormous efforts to make this event possible. If you need a night cap, winter warmer, or simply somewhere speak easy style to hang out and drink excellent drinks, you now know where to go. Map it, bookmark it, Yelp it. Boom.

Bourbon 11
That's it from me, until the next glorious event. In the meantime, I'll be seeing you on Yelp!

Bourbon 12Rowena H

Want to hear what they guests thought? Here's some snippets from the night!

Andy C: 'Drinks, entertainment, A FREE CD (just in case people didnt remember) and more drinks – where can you go wrong!'

Fiona C: 'After the taster session, everything was starting to feel warm and fuzzy. Everything got even fuzzier with the wonderful melodies from Steve Wilson.'

Ted W: 'The event was amazing, organised brilliantly by a bootleggers moll - Rowena.  The fancy dress theme was prohibition.  There is no way me and Davey Boy would have made it into even the lowliest of speakeasy but everyone else looked like they had walked off the set of Bugsy Malone.'

Ian P: 'Dan, the proprietor, was not only wonderfully generous to us with the fantastic range of drinks we got to try, but also laid on amazing entertainment. We had a hilarious time losing poker chips bet on Kentucky derbies from times gone by. We loved it all, and feel very lucky to have been invited.'

Halifax Elites Mingle Mezza-Style!

Posted by Ben

As the rest of the city slipped into their Sunday sweats for a night of recorded Honey Boo-Boo, Yelp Elites in Halifax were just getting going at Yelp's Mezza Mingler! What better way to squeeze in every second of the weekend than capping it off with sensational snacks and even better company? None. Obviously.

We had a feeling Mezza Lebanese Restaurant would be the perfect destination to lure Yelpers out of their weekend hibernations and our hosts easily convinced Mach Z: "I'm actually surprised that there was as much conversation going on as there was last night - as soon as you walked into Mezza you get a quick garlic slap across the face. But I suppose after 10 mins and some delicious wine, you don't even notice it anymore - mostly because I was stuffing my face with delicious food."

Ah yes – the food. First-timer Jennie B wasn't disappointed: "This was also my first visit to Mezza and I cannot wait to go back, the phyllo and cheese rolls were so good I could not help but have seconds and it was pretty much the best hummus I have had." Even veteran Elites like Meegan D were impressed with the small plate spread: "the olive tampenade, the hummus, the kibbi, the lamb kofte, the chicken kebab, the phyllo spinach cheese roll - all of it so very delicious!"

While it may not have been a rager, Maureen J appreciated the atmosphere: "I had a great time catching up with local yelpers and was still home in enough time to relax and get a good night sleep before the dreaded Monday morning alarm went off." But of course, Elites sipped as much as they snacked in order to close out the weekend. Colleen D found a special surprise in her glass, wondering "how did they know Trapiche Malbec was one of my favourite wines? The stars were aligned this evening!" Oh Colleen – even we have our secrets...

Thanks to all who came out for this fabulous night at Mezza! Missed out? Catch all the reviews and be sure to add your own if you haven't already! Want on the guest list for our next bash? RSVP today and bone up on what it takes to be Elite!

Until next time...

Yelp's "Red and White Masquerade" Elite Event

Posted by Ryan C.

Masks were in high fashion this past Tuesday in Lake Forest as lucky Elites gathered at The Wine Artist for Yelp's "Red and White Masquerade" event. The venue generously provided beer and wine as well as a wide variety of desserts to nibble. Teresa C proclaimed, "The plethora of red velvet/cheesecake desserts were not only pretty, but tasty! MJ, your red stained hands were worth it! I didn't try anything that I didn't like. Kudos to you!"

Stonefire Grill was on hand with delicious apps such as their new quinoa Healthy Start Salad, tri-tip steak and creamy pesto pasta. Kristin C "was totally amazed and impressed that quinoa is on their menu" and "even though its healthy for you, it was pretty tasty!"

Our non-profit partner of the night, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Orange County were there  spreading the word on their great cause. Not only were Yelper's interested, they were excited to volunteer. Jimmy N wanted "to thank Melissa at Big Brothers Big Sisters of OC for doing a quick presentation and bringing to our attention the organization." He was "super inspired after the event" and "signed up first thing the next morning."

To end the night on an even higher note, guests were allowed to bottle their own wine as a souvenir. Elites excitedly gathered around as Jamie from The Wine Artist gave a quick tutorial and set them loose to create their Cranberry Chianti concoction. Teresa S professes that "being a wino, I was stoked that we'd be bottling our own wine and it was a seriously cool experience! The step-by-step bottling process we each got to perform was so cool!"

I want to also say thanks to Meg Strouse and Albert Evangelista for their amazing photos!

As always, I had so much fun hanging with you all.

Yelp's Intro to Outré

Posted by Ben B.

Yelpers turned out in their droves for an Elite Event at Outré, the enfant terrible of Sydney’s art scene. Flanked by a tattoo parlour and vintage shops at the business end of Crown St, Outré is a counter-culture art gallery and repository of all-round radness that specializes in underground, surrealist, street, tiki, retro, lowbrow, modern folk and international pop art. A two-level kaleidoscope of floor-to-ceiling prints had guests drowning in creative cool, with many startled by the sheer affordability of such kick-ass artwork.

Yelpers frocked up for the occasion and there was some serious street cred on display with the gallery floor awash with tatts, leather skirts, bandannas, high-waisted purple pants and even the rumour of a double nipple piercing in the hizzouse. No names, no pack-drill!

The spirit of the world’s most famous tattoo artist, ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins, was in residence with Hugh Payten-Smith from Sailor Jerry Rum slinging dark’n’stormys to all and sundry in their brand-spankin’ black anchor cups. Such was the smoothness of the brew it converted Yelp intern Angela Y into a born-again rum-drinker. Win.

The internationals were well represented, with esteemed Yelpers from as far away as Valencia and Lyon on hand to party Sydney-style, and a Yelp Elite from The City Of Lights (that'd be Paris) was on hand to scoop the door prize of an awesome book pack courtesy of Outré.

Special thanks to Sam MacDonald Photography for providing the happy snaps of the night. Want more?

And until next time, SYOY!

Helsinki Yelpers go mad for pumpkins @ Brooklyn Café

Posted by Mikko

Eilen kokoonnuimme 25 Yelpperin kanssa pitämään ikimuistoiset Halloween pirskeet Punavuoren Brooklyn Caféssa. Omistajat Brenda ja Sharron olivat menossa täysillä mukana ja kahvila saatiin Halloween-kuosiin alta aikayksikön. Paikalle saapui kaiken maailman hahmoja.

Yesterday 25 Yelpers gathered at the Brooklyn Café in Punavuori, for a memorable Halloween CMYE. The owners Brenda and Sharron were fully committed to the cause and they were able to give the café a fitting Halloween makeover. All kinds of characters came to the event. Guests included Shrek, pirates, a Spartan warrior, superheroes, ghouls, an airline captain and even one guy from the city of Hyvinkää.

  Costumes1  Costumes2  Costumes3  Costumes4

Brooklyn Café is well-known for their delicious baked goods and lucky for us, the owners served just that! The cupcakes, orange-chocolate brownies and chocolate chip cookies were to die for, which was perfect, since most of the guests already were living dead.

Food1   Food2

The sparkly wine and beer was a perfect match with the buffet of sugary sweets and most importantly it guaranteed that the party never slowed down. Satu W loved everything about the event: "a special thanks to Brooklyn Café's Brenda ja Sharron, I'll be coming back for sure".

Yelpers got down and dirty when it was time for the mini-pumpkin decorating competition.  In true Yelp fashion, the winner would be the one with the most horrifying pumpkin. Former Englishman David C took home the first prize with his vomiting masterpiece. The owners were so impressed by the results that they promised to showcase all of them in the café.

Costumes1  Costumes2  Costumes3  Costumes4

Batman lead the Yelpers, with their schwag filled gift bags, to the after-party, while Robin stayed behind as usual to clean up the mess. It’s hard being a sidekick!

Big thanks to Brenda, Sharron and the rest of the Brooklyn Café gang. Be sure to review the event here! Also, you can find more photos on our Facebook page.

Happy HallowGreen From San Antonio Yelp Elites!

Posted by Gloria

'Twas a lovely starlit evening for Elites to veg out and enjoy a HallowGreen party at Green Vegetarian Cuisine. From Katy B's fabulously studded shoes, to Curt C's stylin' hat and Ash M's rad eyelashes, Yelpers decked out in green as an homage to our hosts, and as always, looked super fly. Forget Meatless Mondays, the new deal is Tofu Tuesdays and Elites are believers

Happy HallowGreen Intro Collage
Gloria doesn't have a "direct dial order service for the weather" as Juliana P suggests, but the ideal temps paired perfectly with "fresh and delicious spring rolls, outta sight pecan hummus, and a kale salad that restores faith in humanity." The bountiful spread from Green also included their take on chicken-fried steak (faux meat of course), sesame tofu, crispy veggies, their signature chipotle sauce and much more! Even carnivores like Jessica A experienced a "totally changed outlook on meatless treats."

Happy HallowGreen Second Collage
We skipped the meat this time, but there's one thing Elite events can't be without – bevs! Our ongoing friendship with MillerCoors has evolved into a love affair now that we've been treated to a variety of seasonal flavors. This month, Leinenkugel Oktoberfest and Blue Moon Winter Abbey made an appearance, keeping Elites refreshed. The Tempranillo sangria with a kick of brandy-infused fruit was "off the chain," deems Curtis L, and Green generously provided non-alcoholic sips in the form of their ever-so-popular hibiscus mint tea and pure sugar cane sodas. "The sugar rush is still hitting" even the next day, according to Sheryl G

Happy HallowGreen Third Collage
As if Green's top-notch staff hadn't done enough, we raffled off $175 worth of gift cards and each guest left with a Green Vegetarian Cuisine t-shirt in hand! For a deeper look at the swag of San Antonio Elites & Green, check out the photo collection of moments captured by Parish Photography.

Yelp Shakes Its Groove Thing @ Urban Spaceman

Adelaide Yelpers spent their "hump day" night bringing vintage back into fashion at Urban Spaceman Vintage Fashions. Adorned with a Cushdy made cocktail in one hand and a What A Treat retro Lemon Slice in the other, Yelpers grooved to the funky tunes of Pimpin' Horus and spent the evening mingling with Yelp Adelaide's finest Elites.

The crew

Yelpers were told by Luke, the owner of Urban Spaceman, that "j ust because something is "vintage" doesn't mean its second hand," - taking pride in his high quality finds of unworn pieces from the 60s and 70s. Tough competition then prevaled throughout the night as Yelpers eyed off "their favourites," from vintage dresses, jackets, shirts, pants and even shoes for both men and women.

From cool threads to making an Old Fashioned Bacardi Rum cocktail or Bombay Sapphire Elderly White Lady, Yelpers were schooled by Cushdy in how to be a "cool" entertainer in the naughties. Daniel R and Natasha S enjoyed reminicing on "nibbles from childhood" like What A Treat's Lemon Slice, French Onion Dip and Leek & Zucchini Puffs. There was also many a fruit kebab dipped in the chocolate fountain and queries of whether a "chocolate layback," would be appropriate at the end of the evening.

Food and drink

The networking stakes were high and as mouths went a chattering, Pimpin' Horus got people well lubricated with their funky, sexy tunes. Lee L is now glad he has "more than one friend on Yelp," and many a Yelper enjoyed putting real faces to names!

Adelaide Yelpers dug this event like a hole, and a huge "thanks dude" must go to the following for all of their efforts on the evening...

  • Luke at Urban Spaceman Vintage Fashion for his passion to bring cool male threads to RAdelaide.
  • Shaun Pattinson at Cushdy for showing us why this bar has been nominated "Australian Cocktail Bar of the Year" – 3 years running.
  • Bacardi Rum & Bombay Sapphire for helping us put together our own cocktails.
  • Natasha from What A Treat Cafe & Recycled Clothing - for "homemade" away from home.
  • Pimpin' Horus for their always funky, groovy, kick ass tunes that whiled away the evening.
  • Wes from Vinosity for trying to convert Yelpers to Chardonnay.
  • Our resident photographer John Kol Photography for the wonderful snaps captured on the night.

Yelp's Passport to Culver City!

Posted by Brinny

Yelp's Passport to Culver City spanned over a week long and brought over 600 Yelpers out to local businesses. They did everything from Zumba, to eating and drinking and exploring art galleries. It was a week chuck full of culture, full of local businesses and full of community!

Sunday started the week off with a Zumba class for all levels "Gundam Style." Sunday morning brought some sexy dance moves to the Brasil Brasil Cultural Center for a free Zumba class and lunch at Leaf Organics.  Over 80% of the attendees were new to Yelp and over 90% were new to Zumba! The group of 30 were all smiles while they shook it every which way. After working up an appetite, they walked next door to Leaf Organics for a gourmet, organic lunch! Rena T shares the best part of the event: "Brittany emphasized that this is a community event, and she did a great job community-building by providing name tags and encouraging us all to meet and interact during these activities. So big kudos to Brittany for coming up with this exciting, healthy and fun introduction to Culver City businesses and growing the community!"

Monday was Jazzy at The Culver Hotel. This classy affair was filled with gourmet passed bites, an open bar with hand crafted cocktails, live music, a photo booth from ThePinkShutter.com and a custom red velvet Yelp cake from SuzieCakes! Mel D shares: "Culver City?? If it weren't for Brittany B, I would have never given this city a chance. Growing up in LA, Culver City was never considered cool. Boy, have things changed!" Check out more photos here!

Tuesday followed with an ice cream social at Cool Haus. This was intimate gathering and a chance to taste over 4 flavors of very unique ice cream and homemade hot chocolate with marshmallows. The sweets didn't stop there!

Wednesday was a dessert tasting at Essential Chocolate Desserts. Sarah M shares, "They made sure everyone satisfied their sweet tooth with ice cream samplings (such as red velvet cake ice cream with real red velvet cake crumbles in it... *drools*), a tray of chocolate everything (brownies, truffles, macaroons, amongst other amazing samples) and an assortment of cakes that were to die for (the banana cake was mouthwatering)."

Thursday night got everyone moving with the Art Walk! Over 8 galleries and 12 sponsors made this one delicious and cultural evening! Galleries included: Think Space Gallery, SPF:a, Susanne Vielmetter, M Bird Studio, George Lawson Gallery, Western Project, and Bruce Lurie. But this wouldn't be a Yelp event with out bites and bevvies! Options for the night include My Vienna, Gotta Have S'more, Capriotti's, Platine Cookies, Zico Coconut Water, Helena Wirth Cakes, Batch 19, Madria Sangria, VeeV Vita Frute, and Diabolo. The walk was spread over a mile in Culver City's art district and was filled with Yelpers, carrying their totes and discovering a new part of their city! Nancy R sums it up well: "Walking. Art. Food. This is as good as it gets. Also, getting to know a different nook of this great city is also a major plus. Not only did Yelpers get to enjoy treats from business located all over the city, but we became culturally aware while doing it." Photographer Ryan Caliendo's photos of the evening can be seen here!

Finally, we ended Passport with a bang with an Elite closing party at Polentoni! Elites were treated like royalty. Free flowing wine and a buffet spread of gourmet Italian classics like aranchini, pizzas and capresse was just the beginning of an all night affair. Joan S sums up the event perfectly: "Holy pasta, did we ever get a ton of delicious food last night. We were treated to a complete sit-down dinner, beginning with appetizers and ending with dessert. An endless supply of wine flowed into glasses as big as fishbowls. No surprise that chef Roberto got a huge round of applause from a very grateful mob of more than a hundred happy Yelpers.  Thank you so much, Polentoni. Did I mention there was live music? Did I mention that Brittany sure knows how to throw a par-tay?!  Very well done! Overall, such a fun evening.  Great food & great dinner conversation in a lovely setting." See all the photos from this magical evening here!

Special thanks to Picture Healing, who snapped shoots at most of the above events as well as The Pink Shutter Photo Booth, who had a photobooth at several of the above events!

Until next time!

Ziggy-Zagga Ziggy-Zagga Oi Oi Oi! Ziggy-Zagga Ziggy-Zagga Oi Oi Oi! On Monday evening Greater Toronto Elites congregated on the West Side of the Burb-in Wall for Yelptoberfest @ West 50 Pourhouse and Grille.

Yelpfest collage 1

Eins - As yelpers arrived in perfectly uniformed fashion at Mississauga’s West 50 Pourhouse and Grille they were greeted by 115 taps of beautiful beer from which began to pour three of Flying Monkey’s Craft Beer tastiest brews. According to Richie S "the Antigravity was the clear winner. It tasted like milk." And while the beer kept flowing, Jackson-Triggs kept it classy with Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon filled wine glasses a plenty.

Yelpfest Collage 3

Zwei - After a Prost or two, Yelpers were treated to a sample of West 50’s spectacular menu prepared especially for this event by Head Chef Brendan Prong. Abbas N gives us the menu run-down, "awesome food! Pulled pork sliders, beef sliders, the chicken samosas and the awesometastic Currywurst? YES PLEASE!"

St. Louis Elites Keep it Spooky at Yelp's All Hallows Eve!

Posted by Aimee

Last Wednesday, one of the coolest events we’ve had in St. Louis went down at the Collective at the MX: Yelp’s All Hallows Eve. What is the Collective, you ask? Think of it this way… tons of your favorite stores all in one place. It’s a retail co-op space where local businesses can rent a spot to sell their (highly coveted) goods. The reason this party was so special is because Yelp Elites got to check it out before it was even open to the public! Since our event date was October 17th, it was the perfect opportunity to have a Halloween party… and party we did. Over 70 elites and guests came out in costumes ranging from cows, to the Little Mermaid, to a bathroom wall (seriously!) and more. Needless to say, it was quite an impressive scene.

There was no shortage of local food at this party, and it was pretty darn special to see some cool local restaurants come together to help celebrate. Pi Pizzeria was on hand dishing out some of their best pizza, Tani Sushi Bistro represented with some sushi, and Robust Wine Bar served up several of their gourmet eats while chatting with guests all evening. Pi is already in the MX building, Robust's second location is on its way, and Tani's sister restaurant Takaya will be opening shortly! Elites enjoyed two complimentary drinks all evening created by Pi and served up by our awesome bartenders Chris & Tonya, and let's just say the liquid courage led to some very... lively dancing!

For those who needed a little something added to their costume, Jessica Dana was on hand to paint faces and keep the party festive! Meanwhile, Marc Mendolia from Rockstar DJs kept the Halloween music coming all night long and even encouraged some elites (shout-out to Stephen W and Christine F) to bust a serious move. Frontyard Features was also on hand and projected "Night of the Living Dead" on the wall to add even more of a creepy factor to our bash!

As always, it was such a blast to see so many elites come out to enjoy a great new local spot. We truly have some incredible yelpers in St. Louis and it seems like every party is more fun than the last. To read even more about All Hallows Eve, check out the reviews on the event page! Also, don't forget to peep the full spread of photos on Yelp's Flickr. Special thanks to Jessica Priest from Brea Photography for documenting the whole evening on camera, and to every person who came together to make this event happen including Nicole Benoist (owner of the Collective), and her awesome employees Lauren and Rafeeq. Also, huge props to Jay Swoboda for creating this video that shows the complete set-up and execution of the event by taking a photo every minute. Pretty cool!

Until the next one, SYOY (see you on Yelp!)

Night of the Yelping Dead with Hartford Elites!

Posted by Emily

Hungry for (poultry) flesh? On Monday night, Yelp Elites came out to party with the undead at Griff's Chicken Shack. Enticed by aromas of fried chicken fingers and amazing southern comfort food, Yelp Elites were welcomed by zombie makeup artists, a zombie caricaturist, libations and tons of delectable bites! Special thanks to Griff's Chicken Shack for hosting, Crispin Cider for the refreshing drinks, and Jesse, Mellissa, and Kerry for their brilliant artistic talents!

Griff's won over the hungry hordes with their signature fried chicken and ten saucy accompaniments. And, for the record, "any time you put" Joshua L "into a room with that many different dipping sauces and meat, it's all going to end in deliciousness and probably some gentle sobbing." There, there, buddy.Griffs2Between tender chicken, jambalaya, red beans and rice, cheesy spiders, and buffalo chicken dip, the hearty spread left Connecticut's finest yelpers in a slight food coma. Crispin Cider was on hand, refreshing guests with both apple and pear hard ciders, and Noelle M deems the "Fox Barrel pear cider" to be "a perfect cool, crisp complement" to the spicy jambalaya.Griffs5 Griffs4

Sanh A loved that the event "combined elements of play with food" and gives a shoutout to Jesse, who "did an amazing job on my makeup. I'm so not taking it off!" Along with some truly horrifying zombie makeup by Jesse Hermanson and Mellissa Escolas, event guests had their caricatures drawn by Kerry from Metal Eyelash. Thank you to all of our sponsors and artists involved in the event - and thanks again to Griff's Chicken Shack and Crispin Cider for the tasty treats!

Charlotte Elites Rocked Caffe Siena Pre-Halloween Style!

Twas' a dark and stormy night....actually, not at all! Another brilliantly gorgeous night fell upon Crown Town and Elites stepped up for the occasion. Though a Monday night can be droll and uneventful, this rowdy and costumed crew spiritedly made way for a fine evening of decadent eats, flowing beverages, copious amounts of sweets, and, of course, prizes for best costumes.

Untitled 3

Caffe Siena and the brilliant kitchen staff turned out tasty eats. Grace Y notes the "sliders, seafood risotto, and mushroom risotto kept me going back for 2nds, 3rds...4ths. The treasure boxes of butternut squash also gave the party a great Halloween flavor!" No shortage of great eats! Adult beverages provided by FlipFlop Wine and Henry Weinhard's Brewing and flowed all night! Think Chocolate, local chocolatier of epic proportions provided the sweet! Chad E got his sweet tooth on with the "yummy enrobed brownies and marshmallows." Travis W had his chocolate-loving heart stolen -- "Big shout to Think Chocolate though.  Good lord, fantastic chocolate and the two young ladies running the station were super nice and fun loving.

Untitled 2

What would a Yelp-O-Ween party be without costumery? Everything from superheroes, terrifying horror characters, punny and witty creations, and, of course, a group dressed up as Psy and the gang from Gangnam Style. Prizes went to Best Male Costume, Female Costume, and Best Group. Winners took home some of Halloween's best (*cough* or worst) movie collections! Best group even took home a truly terrifying prize -- A collection of Nicholas Cage movies.

Untitled 4

Shutterbooth was on site to help capture all of the spooky moments. Jeff S wanted to "see how many people we can fit in the shutterbooth," and there were times when many a costumed Yelper was stuffed among others in the booth for that perfect photo op. Thanks, Shutterbooth!

To cap the night, our costumed crowd broke out into a Gangnam Style dance party. The beardy CM, in full panda get-up, joined in the foot-shuffling fray. Check it out here. Huge thanks to Tonya from Poprock Photography for the stellar video and for all of the brilliant stills!

We Be Pajama-Jammin' at Yelp's BFD (Brunch for Dinner) YEE!

Posted by Nique!

Cafe Biere is famous for it's 20+ varities of mimosas, cheese-crusted Monte Cristos, and...to our occassional sadness...hour-long waits for their infamous Sunday Funday brunches.

But! Yelpers skipped the lines and went straight for the mimosa pitchers on Sunday night, during Yelp's Elite-only BFD (Brunch for Dinner) Pajama Party. The dress code was strictly enforced, and Yelpers gladly complied with the cozy-chic theme sporting footed onesies, robes and slippers for this afterdark pajama-jam...with a grown-up twist. In between sips of tamarind mimosa, John B realized "I never had this much fun sporting my Raiders onesie as a young tyke. Of course that could be because the contents of my sippy cup, weren't quite as potent as what is on the menu at Cafe Biere."

Indeed, this wasn't the PJ party of your childhood. "I don't know what kind of pyjama parties you guys were going to back in the day," notes Troy M, "but mine definitely did not include live DJs, dance floors, mimosas, and bongos" like Cafe Biere's rendition. The amped-up party had Craig F dancing his way over "to the mimosa bar where bottomless mimosas of all varieties were being poured. Strawberry, Mango, Tangerine, Lychee, Guava, Coconut, and more oh my!" Crispin Cider mixed up a mean orange-serrano cider cocktail to kick things up a notch. Meanwhile, Louis H admired the enthusiastic wait staff "sprinting across the room with platters of pulled pork sliders, fried chicken, home fries, and French toast covered in fruit compote" to keep the packed house of Elites noshing and grooving all night. Bierecollage3

Bedtime was set for 8:30pm, but the Cafe Biere staff insisted that Yelpers stay until the mimosas ran dry and all the platters were gobbled clean. This kind of hospitality is what makes Cafe Biere- a tiny resto in a lesser-known corner of Emeryville - the locally-loved establishment that it is, earning raves from Yelpers for their all-day brunches that turn into parties every weekend. Rachel G got a taste of this family-style vibe at the PJ Party, recalling "it was like going to a restaurant owned by a relative." John B felt like he was "crashing an after hours employee-only party." A pretty dreamy scenario, if you ask these Yelpers. Bierecollage2

As with all Yelp Elite Events, the goal is taking the Yelp community offline, matching those avatars with a real face, and forging new friendships with Yelpers and biz owners alike. Karen Z feels that PJs are the key to this type of bonding, adding "now that we've worn our pajamas together, I feel that much closer to you all."

Check out the PJ parade pics by Photostudio29 on our Flickr page, and the mimosa-inspired reviews.

Til next time, keep pajama-jammin' kiddos!

Yelp's Magnificent Masquerade in St. Paul!

Posted by Annie D

A whole mess of Twin Cities Elites came out to party... though not a single one dared to show his or her face at Yelp's Magnificent MasqueradeCollage1From Batman to KISS to face-framers that would make David Bowie proud, the spirited Elites masked up and headed to FACES Mears Park for an evening of locally sourced bites, organic Oregon wines and more.

As nearly 200 guests gathered in the atrium, chef-owner David Fhima gave yelpers a warm welcome and explained the multitude of dishes circulating the party. We also found out that FACES has many (wait for it)... faces. This swanky Lowertown spot is a full-service bistro, wine bar, event space, bakery and bottle shop. They use local and organic ingredients to craft cuisine that spans from American comfort food to globally-inspired specialties.

Green olive-harissa toasts, veggie croquettes, puff pastry with asparagus and blue cheese, stuffed endives and raw tuna with red chili were just a few of the savory bites roaming the event. Jasmine B recalls, "There was a seemingly endless flow of food to try—all unique, local, organic, and super tasty. The bite with the goat cheese, honey, and blackberry was my fave, the chicken satay with fabulous peanut sauce was a close second." As if we hadn't had enough, toward the end of the evening, the staff surprised everyone by bringing out fresh mini pastries like eclairs, cream puffs and Neapolitans!

Jim of Wine Merchants poured three biodynamic Oregon wines from of Dominio IV for the yelpers, including a crisp Viognier, Pinot Noir and a bold blend called Technicolor Bat (an aromatic blend of Tempranillo and Syrah). Meghann F says, "We love Oregon wine... and it was really nice Oregon wine—the Tempranillo blend was my fave."

To help Elites get to and from this St. Paul soiree, Uber offered $20 ride credits to yelpers that evening. Uber launches officially this week, so yelpers got a sneak peek into this luxury car service and mobile app that has blown up already in cities like San Francisco and New York. If you'd like to try this for yourself, sign up using code YELPANNIE and score a few free Uber credits of your own.

If you're wondering who was flitting around this fiesta snapping party pictures galore, it was the incomprable Wing Ta from Canary Grey Photography. You can check out the rest of Wing's shots on Flickr and read what yelpers had to say about the party on the special Yelp listing. If you were at the event, feel free to leave your thanks to our hosts there, but please wait to review any of the sponsors on their own Yelp pages until you've had a more genuine customer experience. If you're interested in becoming an Elite Squad member and scoring an invite to the fun next time, find out more and apply here!

Thanks again to everyone who attended and to FACES, Dominio, Uber, Canary Grey and Intern Lauren for scheming to create this wonderful evening! And congrats to yelpers Libby B and Susan L, the winners of our masked photo challenge who both took home gift cards to FACES!

Until next time,

Denver Yelp's Secret Supper, er Brunch, at Pary's on 28th!

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon dozens of Denver yelpers gathered for the 10th installment of the Secret Supper Club, which was actually the first Secret Brunch meeting! Starting off the day right, Pary's on 28th served guests French Press coffees and bottomless mimosas. As everyone got settled in for the two hour meal the first course of Roasted Pear and Almond Pain Perdu was served. As Dale Z wrote, this sweet dish was rich and flavorful, assertive and tasty. Then the savory course allowed guests to choose between Crabcake Benedict (tons of crab with great flavor and fantastic crispy outside according to Shea S), Huevos Rancheros, or a traditional American breakfast. All in all it was a meal not to be missed!

Denver Elites Yelp In Candyland!

Over 100  Denver Yelp Elites and their guests were treated super sweetly by Yours Truly Cupcake and Flipp Films last week at the Yelping In Candyland event! The event included a "decorate your own cupcake" station, a "create your own ice cream sundae" stop, and a full on candy bar courtesy of Fleur Decor (Fleur also provided the beautiful floral decorations set around the two venues), along with several cupcake and cocktail pairings.

Speaking of the pairings - not much was sweeter throughout the night! Peach Street Distillery created the "New Fashioned" (Peach Street Distillery Peach Brandy, bitters, sugar) to pair with a peach cupcake with goat cheese and cream cheese frosting and a sprig of basil. Breckenridge Distillery handmade the "Fall into Bourbon" (Breckenridge Bourbon, cider, homemade syrup: apple, nutmeg, anise, peppercorn, cinnamon, and brown sugar) to pair with an apple cupcake topped with bourbon cream cheese frosting and a dusting of cloves. The Whipped Cream Cocktail (whipped cream vodka, pineapple juice and a splash of soda) was a delicious accompaniement to a pineapple right-side-up cupcake with whipped vodka buttercream frosting. And the Crispin Cider took it's partner, a gingerbread cupcake with cider buttercream frosting and crystalized giner to a whole new level!

Yelpers also joined in a Candyland scavenger hunt of sorts with the winners walking away with a "bucket of sugar" - a Halloween pail full of candy, cupcakes, and a Yelp t-shirt. Plus there was even a gingerbread (wo)man on hand for photo ops. Talk about a sugar high! Be sure to check out the photos and the reviews and until next time, SYOY (See You On Yelp)!

Elberta Kicks the Passport Off in Style!

Posted by peter d.

Last night Brooklyn's finest were treated to some real southern charm courtesy of Elberta, a brand-new restaurant and bar on Flatbush. As one of the 20+ businesses participating in the Passport to Prospect Heights, Elberta is offering 1/2 priced signature appetizers all week long, but last night was an exclusive event showcasing this scrumptious southern menu to the Elite Squad.

PicMonkey Collage1
These vocal locals packed into the place, marveling at the simple, inviting decor with tasteful pendant bulbs and talented violinist Phearnone (at Elberta every Friday!) setting the mood. Behind the bar, Natasha created cocktails with Cacao Prieto's delicious chocolate rum (hailing from Red Hook), and kept the party rocking as the chef wowed the crowd.

PicMonkey Collage2
The Elberta staff, led by Erica and Erwin, showed off their southern hospitality and circulated incredible tastes off their menu. With Cajun shrimp fried to perfection, blackened tuna with just the right spice, and mushroom puff pastries bursting with flavor, you know Elberta can throw down. However, the consensus winner of all the delicious dishes was the RIBS. A little bit spicy, a little bit sweet, these meaty, fall-off-the-bone marvels were completely irresistable. As Candice H attests, "Handshakes were traded for fist pumps and head nods because I think everyone licked that sauce off their fingers."

PicMonkey Collage3
Whether or not you made it out, make sure you check out what folks are saying in their reviews and on Talk; peep the photos from Jersey's own YoSteph here, and of course check out all the other Passport fun happening this week.

PicMonkey Collage4
A huge thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff from Elberta for welcoming us all in with open arms; with food and hospitality like this, I'm sure they'll be a Flatbush favorite for a long time to come. I know I'll be back anytime I need a rib fix. I'll see you there!

South Bay Goes Around the World in 80 Yelps... Again!

Posted by Abby Schwarz

One of the most awesome aspects of Yelp's Community events is meeting the owners of all the "Mom & Pop shop" businesses that the site supports. Mike and Fera from Arya Global Cuisine are most definitely a pleasure to work with... so much so that they've hosted not one but two South Bay Elite Events in 2012! The first "Around the World in 80 Yelps" was hosted at their Redwood City restaurant and our most recent event, "Around the World in 80 Yelps... Again" happened just last week at their Cupertino location!

Interestingly enough, Arya's menu consists of Persian and Italian food, as the head Chef/Owner Mike grew up in Persia and also spent several years training in Italy. As with the last get-together, Elites showed up dressed in international attire and Arya's gracious staff showered them =with an endless supply of hummus, kebabs, flavored rice, lamb, samosas, bruchetta and their famous pomegranate pistachio meatballs. Not to be forgotten was the sinful chocolate mousse cake served as the final course! "How much food did I have? Too much!" said Elite Peggy S. "But all that was well worth the struggle... the food was absolutely amazing! There were many different dips and spreads, and, lavash, bread, and chips.  We also got to try two types of basmati rice, one cooked with chicken, dates, raisins, and the other one with lamb, dill and other spices."

Around the World Again collage 1

SignatureWines.com, a Bay Area-based site who offers compelling, full-service wine experiences, was on-hand to offer tastings of Touriga, "True Red" and Tourvanillo from Fenestra Winery in Livermore, which paired perfectly with the menu. "If I were a richer man, I would've joined Siganture Wine's  club on the spot as it was very tempting," touts Carl W. In addition to vino, Red Hook IPA as well as Widmer Brothers Marionberry Hibiscus Grose were provided. And because it was an international affair, Magner's Irish Cider made an appearance which Ben H.L really appreciated, "I hadn't had cider in a long time and it was refreshingly good." Needless to say, no one was without a tasty beverage at this event!

Not only was there a smorgasbord of food and drink, Elites stared in amazement at (some even tried to replicate) Maria the belly dance and her hipnotic moves. "SALAMAT to Maria!" cried Ellen L. "I was absolutely amazed at how long and how well she could  shake her hips, and never missing a beat! Catch her performing reguarly at Arya on the weekends.

Around the World Again collage 2

"Seeing as how October is breast cancer awareness month, it was very fitting that this event was a fundraiser for HERS Breast Cancer Foundation," Leslie H pointed out. And she's right! HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, based in Fremont, has a mission to support all women healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and services regardless of financial status. Albeit a small party, the South Bay Elites donated close to $400 to the cause

Yelp Elite Meat Up! @ Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

Posted by Danny Wurst

Now that the weather is cooling down in Chicago, it's time to start plumping up for the winter, and what better way to do this than check out the city's newly remodeled Ruth's Chris Steakhouse? Guests arrived at this intimate "meat" up and were guided, along the shiny new bar, to a room set up with not one, but two, food stations. Chef Jorge sliced up melt-in-your-mouth beef tenderloin at the carving station, where Yelpers could create their own sliders with accompanying mustard and horseradish sauces. And did we mention the passed appetizer trays? Partygoers sampled mini crab cakes, beef wellingtons, and seared tuna served on fresh cucumber. The second table featured a spread of fruits, cheeses, and much raved about mini key lime cheesecakes were a great sweet way to round out this feast.

Food Collage-2
Bartenders mixed up delicious libations, including Ruth's Chris' signature pomegranate martini, that turned non-martini drinkers into enthusiasts. A stellar waitstaff and management team were on hand to make sure that everyone was well taken care of, and questions such as "Why is it called Ruth's Chris Steakhouse?" were answered. We even got an exclusive tour of the redecorated private party rooms upstairs. The night ended with a raffle of gift certificates generously provided by the restaurant.

Yelp's Smashing Social At Smashburger The Heights

Posted by Farrah Akhtar

There's a new Smashburger in Houston – and Elites got first dibs on burgers, shakes and sides!

On October 19th, 130 Elites made way to Smashburger in The Heights for a private tasting. Yelpers enjoyed an array of scrumptious and juicy burger bites – from the Buffalo Chicken to Spicy Baja Black Bean to the Classic. Just as savory sides like Smash Fries and fried pickels turned up the heat, icey, frothy and creamy cold Smash Shakes lowered the temps – and caused a sugar high or two!

Yelpers walked away with full bellies and a bag full of goodies, all thanks to Smashburger in The Heights! If you missed out, check out the pics and read all the raving event reviews!

Soirée Yelp Elite #5 chez El Turco

Posted by Christoph

Tesekur ederim El Turco (Merci El Turco ! )

Screen Shot 2012-10-22 at 11.25.19 AM

Screen Shot 2012-10-22 at 11.40.46 AM
On aime. Un poil plus exotique, Julie M a re-découvert une boisson découverte à Bratislava, le Club-Mate ! A tenter absolument !

One of the best things about these Yelp Elite Events, is discovering new incredible places in your city. That’s exactly what Yelpers took home after this Yelp Elite Event #5, Tesekur ederim El Turco (Thank you El Turco ! )

El Turco is a brand new resto-bar situated right in the middle of a new upcoming neighborhood called Places de Londres. Erkan and his team worked really hard on giving this big space a unique, simple but modern touch, or as Dorothée E puts it « raw & oriental look ». In short, the perfect spot to gather 85 Yelpers on this Monday night.
El Turco, the Restaurant : People can come here to have lunch, or even dinner. Yelpers had the opportunity to taste a bit of their Mediterranean specialties…Rebecca J loved it : « these samplings just whet my appetite to have more…»

Screen Shot 2012-10-22 at 11.40.29 AM
El Turco, the Bar : This place is also the perfect spot for friends to meet afterwork, for a few drinks while watching football for example ! Vedett, our sponsor for the night offered us more than enough cold & fresh beers. A bit more exotic, Julie M re-discovered a drink she found in Bratislava years ago, Club-Mate, definitely a must try !

In all, an uplifting mood, new yelpy faces and a ton of smiles during these 2 hours. Thanks very much to Erkan and his entire team for the warm welcome !

Thanks to Nicolas Lefébure for these great pictures.

A Chile Autumn Evening In Albuquerque At El Pinto

Posted by Howie

On Thursday, Albuquerque Elites peeled out for some heat and roamed the El Pinto patio grounds for the inaugural Elite Event in the 505. The establishment, best known for hosting international dignitaries and celebrities, got downright local and provided an evening of tastings, tours and slow-cooked boar. It's going to be hard to top!

Guests were invited to don their harvest and peeling gear (if ya don't know, you aren't local), and upon enterance were treated to table-side fresh guacamole, irrisitable chile con queso and a tasting of thier exclusive oak-barreled premium reposado tequila from Herradura. From there they were led to the patio grounds where they obliterated a pinata stuffed with shwag.

After a brief tour of their salsa facility and an introduction to the owners, yelpers returned to the restaurant to gorge on succulent pork, signiture chile-rubbed ribs, empanadas and other dishes. Prizes were handed out, new friends were made and the tradition of 5-star events began in one of Albuquerque's most storied venues. Raise a glass for Yelp ABQ!

Soirée Elite Yelp's Back To School @ La Classe

Posted by Elodie

On a rainy sunday night with cold wind,90 Parisian Elites fought the awful weather to gather in the hearthy atmosphere of La Classe, rue de Maubeuge. Welcomed by the Chef himself, they found comfort in the delicious food prepared for them. And that menu got a well- deserved A !

In the vintage decor of a revisited primary school, the ambiance soon got warmer as the Marie Brizard cocktails kept coming: rosemary/cucumber/mint or jasmin/ginger/basil. Céline R gives us a slightly childish account of the event :"Let's pretend we are holding a party at La Classe when school is over. We would put hashbrown instead of the bread on our mini burgers because potatoes are ace. Then we'd make some salted caramel whipped cream. And we'd have the best party of all grades in Paris."

And plates kept coming ! All full of absolutely delightful delicatessens: tomatoe tartar with cottage cheese and herbs, tuna ceviche with coconut milk and pomegranate, tangy shrimps with red pepper and zucchini, mini Loïc's burger, and brownies with salted butter caramel whipped cream... a sweet sin. As they were sipping rosemary or jasmine-infused cocktails and the fabulous wines from Sous Les Pavés La Vigne, a very industrious atmosphere settled. Pens in hand, they seriously got into the game of answering questions about Paris food culture. Benjamin C even won a bottle of Champagne. "A festival of good taste, starting with the tartar and goat cheese, and the shrimp that really took me to another dimension (visibly the same one as Pascaline L), Eloi M describes.

Yelp's Brisbane Happy Cabin Elite Event

Posted by Lani P.

It was a balmy eve when Yelp’s Brisbane Elite crew gathered in the astro-turfed grounds of Two Trees Espresso Bar and the cosy Happy Cabin in West End. More than 30 Yelpers sipped Magners new range of Summer ciders with refreshing flavours including Orange and Honey, Pear with a hint of Ginger and Berries with Peach.

Yelp Brisbane's Happy Cabin Elite EventOur Cabin was quickly overcome with the delicious fragrance of fresh waffles from The Iron Ladies. The King Harald (Norweigan Brown Cheese and Raspberry Jam), Queen Sonja (Sour Cream and Raspberry Jam), and their Chorizo fried in Organic Apple Cider and Bay Leaf Smokey Mayonnaise with Queso Manchego Cheese waffle were just some of the favourites of the night.

Thanks to Grill’d West End we also enjoyed mini burgers and guests were hooked on L’Miao Bakery gluten-free s’mores brownies.

Before the night was over it was time for a round of hipster trivia. The prize? A Herschel Backpack from The Happy Cabin the trophy prize. Yelper Caitlin H was our ultimate hipster walking home with a fancy new Herschel on her back.

Thanks to everyone who made the night great fun... The Happy Cabin and Two Trees, The Iron Ladies, L’Miao Bakery, Magners Australia, Grill’d West End, our photographers Andrew W (and Yelper Katie R) and of course, YOU!

Read the reviews and for more photos? They’re on Flickr.

Now get Yelping, Brisbane. Who wouldn’t want to get in on the shenanigans of this city’s Elite Squad?!?

Vegas Yelpers Nerdy Danced All Night Long

Posted by Misti Yang

They say the geek shall inherit the earth, and so they did this past Wednesday at Wish Vegas. With suspenders snapped, glassses taped, and loafers polished, they also inherited the dance floor. Nerdy Dancing II: Revenge of the Robot went down, and it went a little something like this.

The first 100 dorks through the door got the evening started right with a complimentary Charlie The Chip Pocket Protector from Fry's Electronics. And putting their technological talents to work, they checked in to the party on the Yelp App to earn their "Geek Badge" and a complimentary nerdy pick up line. (Rumor has it those lines came in handy!) On the patio, guests were greeted by The Balloonmaster's Show complete with balloon art and one tough raccoon game. Who knew digging through trash cans was so challenging?

And, boy were there some delicious snacks from Bootlegger BistroMix N MacSin City CupcakesSin City Snoballls and SnacksThose Guys PiesNacho DaddyHi-ChewB Sweet Candy Boutique, and Garrett Popcorn all washed down with tasty beverages from Adult Chocolate Milk and Jones Soda.

The bespectacle didn't stop there!  We Go Gamez brought out Dance Central 3, and LV Photo Party was in the house with a green screen photo booth! Peep all those photo op shots hereHypnotic Salon got everyone ready for their time in front of the camera with nerdy makeovers.

And given that A. It was a Nerdy Dancing party, and B. Wish is the newest spots for locals to cut a rug, there was a dance party going on curated by DJ Charlie Darker. Geeky guests even took the dance floor to compete in a Gangnam Style VS Robot Dance Off with prizes provided by Max Pawn, Floss DentalCheyenne Dental and Hypnotic Salon. The final dance off was a tie proving that it's hard to choose just one favorite nerdy dance move.

Perhaps Anthony M sums up the five star evening best, "Last year's Nerdy Dancing was one of my most favoritest events, and Nerdy Dancing II was even more favoritester than the last." Read all the reviews here, and peruse the geeky gala captured on film by photographer Bryan Schnitzer on our very own Flickr set.

Yelp's Secret Supper Is No Secret Anymore - Yelpers Had A Blast @ 23 Hoyt With Burnside Brewing!

Posted by Don Bourassa

After much anticipation, the clues finally coalesced. On Monday, October 15th, PDXYelp released the highly anticipated location of Portland's second Yelp Secret Supper. On Wednesday the 17th, it was on. 50 of Yelp's most awesome gathered at 23 Hoyt for a special beer-pairing dinner with recent gold-medal-winning Burnside Brewing for a night of tasty treats, all for $25 plus tip.

PicMonkey Collage

The night started off with an hors d'ouvre of grilled flatbread with chevre, caramelized onions, dried currants and arugula, which was paired with Burnside's Wild Plum Gose. Second was a choice between blue mussels with housemade chorizo, Iberian peppers and wheat beer; and a goat cheese brulee with heirloom pepper piperade, medjool dates, and watercress. Burnside's gold-winning Sweet Heat paired with that second choice. For entrees, yelpers were treated to either: 12-hour beef cheeks with soft polenta, chantrelle mushrooms and glazed cippolini onions; or wild mushroom ragu with seared polenta, pecorino toscano and smoked sea salt. This entree option paired perfectly with Smoky the Beer. And finally, dessert came in the fom of a heavenly Valrhona chocolate brownie with walnuts and cognac ice cream. It was rounded out with Burnside's Red Light District - an imperial stout made with strawberries and aged in rum barrels. Yup. rum barrels. On top of Chef Amber Webster's delectable fare, the folks from Burnside were on hand to talk about the beers themselves as an added bonus!

It wasn't just about the food and the drinks, though. Yelpers enjoyed meeting new folks, mixing and mingling, and we even had a news crew show up! Thanks to Matt and Amber at 23 Hoyt; Ezra and the boys from Burnside Brewing; Manterns Kevin K and Chris S; and of course everyone who put their trust in me to throw down an epic dinner. It was worth a lot more than the $25 price tag, and I owe it all to the folks above.

Until next time, SYOY!

… Sincerely, the Yelp Miami Breakfast (for dinner) Club

Posted by Johnny Todd

Who says that eggs are only for the a.m. hours? Who says that a properly made mimosa can’t be enjoyed after dark? We don’t know either… because when it comes to enjoying breakfast foods for dinner, the Yelp Miami Elite Squad is all business and bellinis. An intimate group of yelpers descended upon Coconut Grove fan-favorite, GreenStreet Café, for a sit-down evening of great conversation, delicious drinks and potent potables. Would you expect any less when Yelp Serves Up Brinner?

8098567029_a2916a873a_b 8098568269_72e1e1469d_b 8098568852_e9074fe01d_b 8098574748_7aeda6636a_b

Guests were invited to sit in the private back-room area of GreenStreet Café, where they were surrounded by bookcases, brick walls, elegant chandeliers, and plush royal seating — fitting for a king (or, Community Director). As each member walked in the room, they were led to sit in the order in which they arrived. This event was gearing up to be a family affair and though they might have entered as strangers, they left as friends and fellow Elites. The fruit salad bowls waiting on the table as they entered sparked the conversation and the Red Geisha Bloody Mary and Prosecco Mimosas courtesy of Cupcake Vodka and Cupcake Prosecco kept it flowing — literally.

8098567431_874686ce26_b 8098569307_b8bfe2bcf0_b 8098578106_8103783886_b 8098578612_9fed8ec13a_b

Even though Miamians are known to enjoy a liquid lunch (or, five), this was brinner; living on liquid alone would not do. Luckily, the culinary craftspeople in the GSC cocina were on top of their game. Course after course of family-style servings of Scrambled Eggs with Cream Cheese & Chives; Locally-sourced Applewood Sausage; Fig Salad with mixed greens, dried figs, tomatoes, aged cheese, pita, & pecans; Chorizo Pizza; Chicken Curry Ravioli; and Mini Pancakes & Muffins, filled bellies and created smiles.

The best way to get to know someone is to break bread with her… and that’s exactly what happened during the event. There was carousing, singing, clapping, smiling, laughter, and the kind of joyful noise that comes about because of good food, good people and good drink. Providing impeccable service from start to finish and from bar to dining room, GSC made the Yelp Elite Squad feel like family. Ace photog Alex H took the family portraits you can find here. And, the family records are right around here. Change things up. Meet new people. Eat pancakes for dessert. Enjoy breakfast for dinner with your new best friends.

Yelp MKE Elite Tenth & Blake Beer Dinner at Maxie's!

Posted by Rachel Fell

Love your city? Yelp it up? Become elite, and then? VIP treament like a boss!

This past Monday night, beer distributor extraordinaire Tenth & Blake hosted a beer dinner for the books at seminal Milwaukee favorite, the always impressive Maxie's Southern Comfort and believe you us... we were treated. We were wined (rather, brewed!) and dined with five courses of food and beer pairings carefully curated and worked through by Tenth & Blake and the Maxie's kitchen. Amaze.

Gathering: St. Stefanus Belgian Blonde Ale with assorted bar snacks, including a dried fruit/chicken & potato skin trail mix, goat-cheese stuffed peppers, rye toasts, and more, which leads us to...

Course #1: Batch 19 Prohibition Era with gulf style broiled oysters and french bread... dear god, those oysters! (Go. Get them. You will *not* be sorry!) Then, onto...

Course #2: Worthington's Red Shiel Pale Ale with a Fish 'N' Chips featuring North Atlantic Coastal Sole, sweet potato fritters, apple slaw, and pickled pepper tartar. Drooling, and at this point, you may be feeling a bit full, but wait for it...

Course #3: Pilsner Urquell paired with a crispy roasted veal breast, stewed blackeyed peas, saffron noodle, kale, and natural jus. Oh mah gah!

Course #4: Just when you thought you couldn't any longer, you're served a Worthington's White Shield English IPA paired with a prime Miman Rand Beef Flat Iron Steak with carmelized brussels sprouts, rosemary roast garlic duchess potato, and Stilton butter. WHAT?!

And to round it out, Course #5: Leinenkugal's Big Eddy Baltic Porter with a dark chocolate cherry torte and porter ice cream. Food coma commence.

Everything was incredible... a huge thanks to Mark and Dan of Tenth & Blake for walking us through the pairings and educating us on these fabulous beers, and to owners Joe, Dan, and the amazing staff of Maxie's who provided us with beyond impeccable food and service. Check detailed reviews outlining the event here, and the rest of the photos? They're in our Yelp Flickr portfolio!

Now get Yelping, Milwaukee! Who wouldn't want to get in on elite-tasticness like this just for loving their city?

Cheers, beers, amazing bites, and until next time... SYOY!

Louisville Elite Peace Love & Juice Party

Posted by Megan

"Come together..." In the spirit of celebrating local business, ah-mazing raw & organic treats, and a little bit of flower power, Elites "came groovin' up slowly" for an evening of Peace, Love & Juice at Life Bar.

Chase, the owner, and crewmembers Patience and Sarah graciously served up samples of Reishi Cappuccino, Breath of Ginger and many more juices and smoothies on their menu. But Jessica L's right, "it's not an elite event without cocktails." And for this special event only, they mixed up some Rain organic vodka fusion drinks. Five stars in her book: "This time we were getting delicious drinks...that were nutritious?!" Bottoms up, there was a bevy of bold flavored boozy juices — all organic!

And of course, we Elites love to eat! Yep, the best of Louisville's Yelp community also got a sneak peek of Life Bar's new raw foods menu before it rolls out next month. And as it turns out, we like it raw: organic and gluten-free raw pizza, kale salad and raw-violi were devoured by all. Plus, almond cookies and orange maca chocolate mousse to top it off? Now that's far-out!

DJ Glittertitz rocked out the 60's and 70's jams and Yelpers added some hippie flair here and there to their outfits for the night with bell-bottoms, tie-dye, bandanas and long flowing skirts. When the votes were tallied, it was Jasmine A — wig and all — who took away the prize pack including a bottle of VeeV Açaí Spirit for the "Most Hippied Out" costume contest.

Thanks again to everyone who came and brought out their inner hippie and many thanks to everyone at Life Bar for all of their help. Read the reviews and check out more photos on the Yelp Flickr page.

Elite Event: Yelp's Double Date At Lord Coconut & Miss Fox

Posted by Tresna

We know our Elites love a party, so we thought... why throw one party when we can throw two in the same night?

Yelp's Double Date was an ambitious affair - 75 guests, 2 venues, 10 sponsors and two and a half hours to mix them all together in one big delicious cocktail.

With the crowds split between our two venues - Lord Coconut and Miss Fox, it was fun to watch the photos being uploaded to Yelp as the night progressed. Pinot Palooza came on board, offering two double passes to this weekend's Pinot fest to the two best photographs of the night. Who won? Kobie D and Gerald P! Nice one!

At Miss Fox Yelpers were treated to mini pampering sessions  - nails, hair, make up, skin analysis and massage! There was lots of relaxing going on and everyone looked like a million bucks!

Australian fashion icon Slade Knitwear was there showcasing their new range, with the lovely Cheryl Lin from Busichic styling the ladies and helping them "work it!" for the camera.

Miss fox

What's a party without sugar? Yes, there was a giant lolly bar, and delectable red velvet cupcakes from Sugadeaux. Cocktails came from 666 Pure Tasmanian Vodka and Sensory Lab who had worked together to extract coffee through ice and vodka! With two beans used it was great to see the variation in flavours used, the Chompy Blend resulting in a rich and chocolatey brew that was served on ice and topped with shaved chocolate!

666 Just a couple of blocks away another crowd were partying, masculine style, at Lord Coconut. With local artists on hand to chat about their work, Yelpers drank cocktails made with Monkey Shoulder Whisky and Capi mixers. Bartender Sam kept the crowds lubricated and entertained.

Snacks? Oh yes, there were some indulgent ones! Tom from Red Cow Cheese presented Sélection Rolf Beeler Swiss Artisan Cheese and served it with seeded Brasserie Bread baguette slices and a walnut jam.

An hour in, the groups were swapped! Yelpers passed each other in the street, madly waving and telling each other what they should try at the other venue.

Afterwards, everyone met at Spice Market with happy hour "666 Pure Pash" cocktails available to Yelpers! Many were still there when Community Manager, Tresna L, called it a night! Nicely played Yelpers - you've proven you know how to double date!

Want in on future Elite Events? (of course you do!) Read more about it here.

Until next time - SYOY!

Yelp's Freak Out Friday At The Children's Museum Of Houston

Posted by Farrah Akhtar

More than 200 Elites donned their most ghoulish garb and made way to Yelp's Freak Out Friday at The Children's Museum of Houston. There were tricks, there were treats, there were monster mash beats!

With a suggested $5 donation to the CMH, yelpers engaged in some of the most frightful – but fun – Halloween shenangiganss. A scavanger hunt thoughtout the Museum which included a slime making station, mazes and obstical courses.

There to keep the living dead pumped with monster mash tunes and energy were DJ Seduction along with partna' in crime DJ Scoop. And Houston Zombie Walk – Downtown was scaring up the scene with freakish zombies and zombie demmos.

Yelpers sipped on potent witches brew concocted with Deep Eddy Vodka and grapefruit juice and Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka and lemonade – along with ice cold Saint Arnold Santo, and vampire-approved cabernet sauvgnion from Houstonian-owned SYN Winery.

From savory to sweet, there was an array of noshes for the trick-o-treaters. The Little Po-Boy Shop turned up the heat with Jalapeno Hush Puppies, Crawfish Etouffe and Gumbo. Lured by the aromas of Hungry's Cafe & Bistro, the lines were long for their Jalapeno Hummus and Black Bean Orzo Pasta Salad. For a sugar high, Dolce Delights served up Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Cruch and Raspberry & Pistacchio dome cakes. Did MKT Bar's Walnut Baklava and Monster Eye Cake win you over? We don't blame you. And who can forget Nothing Bundt Cakes - Uptown and their sweet spread of popular mini bundts – from red velvet to carrot!

Shutterbugs DnN Photography and Nature's Studio Photography snapped both candid and photo booth pics of the Freak Out fun. If you missed the excitement, you can catch all the rave reviews here. Special thanks the Children's Museum of Houston for providing yelpers with complimentary passes for another return, $5 Starbucks gift cards for the scavenger hunt and awesome gift baskets for the many costume contest winners. And congrats to the 100 Elites who walked away with VIP tickets to the Bayou City Art Fesetival the following day. What a weekend!

Thanks again, and SYOY!

Boston Elites Attend Tacoholics Anonymous at Bully Boy Distillers!

Posted by Damien S
We are the Elite Squad, and we are tacoholics. 'Twas a downright boozy fiesta at the Bully Boy distillery on Thursday, when the best of Boston's Yelp community came together to lend their support for a pop-up meeting of Yelp's Tacoholics Anonymous! Jason J got to "dibble dabble in whiskey and rum related beverages while rubbing tacos and tortas all over" his face before "sexily rinsing off with some Narragansett." It's hygiene, y'all.
Elites traversed the industrial park home of the Bully Boy Distillers, with a voracious appetite quenched by a bounty of tacos and tortas provided by The Taco Truck. The mobile food mecca flexed a menu in flux: three taco varieties for the first hour and three tortas in the latter. As Yelpers munched on favorites, from Pescado tacos and Barbacoa tortas, Dave and Will Willis led tours over the barrels and around the bottles of their distillery.
Of course, it wasn't just about looking at how the juice is made, as guests sipped white whiskey and rums from the hosts, and the beer enthusiastic cracked Narragansett lager to seasonal tall boys. The Bully Boy brothers shook and stirred delectable cocktails using their fresh-from-the-barrel booze, including La Manzana, a light rum-spiked apple cider that "went down like candy and kept luring" Danielle F "back for refills." The Willis brothers also integrated The Taco Truck's lemonade with their white whiskey and a dash of bitters to make La Limonada. Looking for a non-alcoholic beverage, or a mixer rather? Hallelujah to Spindrift for serving up a dozen sparkling juices and sodas to the thirsty masses.
The guys from City Dining Cards were dealing out their deck to Elites who checked in to the event, earning $10 off a plate at a beloved local restaurant. And the big finale (drumroll please) a power pack of Yelpers lifted the City Dining Card's electric blue Fiat! Popeye can keep his spinach. Reviews are rolling in, Talk is abuzz and photos are up on Flickr and Facebook. Tag away, tacoholics!
That's it in a taco shell,
