A Ghoula of Monstrous Proportions in New Orleans!
It was a dark and not so stormy night... Over 100 Elites and fiends–we mean friends– crawled out of their coffins and dragged their bodies to Yelp's Horrific Halloween Ghoula at 711 Bourbon Heat on Thursday night.
In the creepy courtyard, our guests hung and engaged in a variety of games to awaken the mischievous little demons inside of us. Everyone was a winner at spooky bingo, a trick that got us meeting and mingling. The prize? Tiny costumed rubber duckies and, most importantly, new friends! Meanwhile, DJ Cameron provided the beats for the monster mash upstairs. There were tons of treats provided by the sorcerers in the kitchen at Bourbon Heat and it got us gobblin': salad, pasta, hummus and a variety of passed apps– of course the gator bites were a big hit. The good ol ‘days of trading pop rocks for sugar daddys were here again for us as we rummaged through Yelp or Treat bags. Witches brews & potent potions included complimentary Stella on tap, well drinks, pumpkin pie shots, and monstrous green and orange specialty cocktails.
It's no Halloween party without the costumes and holy ghosts did everyone dress in the spirit of the evening as per the instructions to don their zombie chic, ghostly gowns, witchy couture, monster merriest and beastly best! Prizes were awarded to the best of the bunch. Vickie L took top prize for her gorgeous peacock attire and runners up were Scott S's latex-suited superhero, Chamberlaine B's homemade human piñata, and a very creatively decorated owl. Prizes included: a night of bottle service at Bourbon Heat and portraits painted by our resident artiste Elite, Re Howse.
Thank you to the spectacular staff at Bourbon Heat and thank y'all for your spine-tingling presence. Now, don't be scared to see the rest of the photos by Richard Strasbourg on flickr and read the reviews.
Your ghastly CM,
Joi B (as Joan H, fiending for braaaains!)
