We've said it before, and we'll say it again: nothing beats a Brooklyn backyard party. Especially not one hosted by Good Co, the laid-back oasis in the heart of Williamsburg. Not only is the interior incredibly inviting with its restored wood planks from a Rockaway Beach boardwalk, but the patio -- one of the largest in Brooklyn -- is among the borough's best as well.
Last night, Brooklyn's finest yelpers posted up at the refurbished barn wood tables and said goodbye to summer in style. With Will behind the stick pouring two tasty beers from Empire Brewing Company (their signature IPA and the summery, Belgian-style White Aphro) and mason jars full of Dutch's Moonshine iced teas, the party got started real quick. Like Phil H says, it all "went down too easy!"
It wouldn't be a Yelp event without some top-rated tastiness, so Smorgasburg sensation Pelzer's Pretzels was slangin' both savory and sweet options (love the Everything with the addictive spicy beer mustard!). Meanwhile, the mac & cheese from nearby Miller's Tavern knocked Claire M's "socks off with its combination of creaminess, spicy sausage, and savory Brussels sprouts." Just for kicks, Midtown favorite Park Avenue Tavern also offered up some tasty dips including a delicious olive-sundried tomato tapenade.
No night at Good Co is complete without a round or two of Giant Jenga, and the folks from Empire Brewing won an epic match to round out the evening. A huge thanks to Stephen, Ben, Will and the rest of the Good Co staff for running such an awesome bar and welcoming us all with open arms. I know I'll be there taking advantage of the last few days of warm weather, and probably through the winter as well.
Whether or not you made it out, make sure you check out the photos from the lovely Melanie Fidler, and what people are saying in the reviews and on Talk. Good friends, good drinks, good food...good times.
