Fort Worth Yelpers BYOT Yelper Party @ Artspace 111!
As three hundred North Texas yelpers descended on Artspace 111, a modern artist's enclave tucked away on the edge of downtown Fort Worth, they may have wondered what, exactly, awaited them: what they found, then, was Yelp's first-ever Bring Your Own Theme costume party, where friends came dressed in tandem get-ups, fourteen bevvie sponsors, four restaurants dishing terrific bites, and performances from Burlesque In Dallas and DJG on wax. It was, to be sure, not dull. Couple that with a smooth ride from Meador Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and an opportunity to support The Hope Project and yelpers had plenty to consider.
And consider they did: Margaret B was wowed by the burlesque dancers, noting "setting flame to your glittery pasties was definitely a highlight!" She fell hard for the Blood and Honey from Revolver Brewing, "my new favorite beer, straight out of Granbury." Yelpers sipped on a variety of delicious beverages, from Real Ale to Santa Fe Brew, Kronenbourg 1664 to Saint Arnold Santo, Carlsberg to Warsteiner, Woodchuck Cider to Lost Oak Wine, Steinlager Pure to scotch from The Macallan and Cinco Vodka to boot. And for the tee-totalers? How about some of Grandma Gracie's Homemade Lemonade. Bring on the thirsty!
There were fab bites to be had, too: Monty's Corner, Zoe's Kitchen, Hedary's Mediterranean Restaurant and The Lunch Box dialed up delicious noshes from beginning to end, just ask Jessica N, who gave rave marks to all the restaurants but highlighted the flavor she found from Monty's: "Definitely going to try Monty's Corner after having that wonderfully tasty teaser of risotto and pork!"
In the end though, yelpers did their best to take it all in. "This was my (and Fort Worth's) first "yelper" party and all I can say is sensory overload," repped Eric W. "Greatness comes as no surprise, but this event exceeded every preconceived expectation that I had." We'll drink to that!
