Yelp's Sparkling Affair @ Champagne + Fromage

Okay, so we haven't had the sunniest of Julys so far, but whilst the rain continues to soak the capital we will not allow it to dampen our spirits! A pick-me-up was in order and it came in the shape of Yelp's Sparkling Affair at Champagne + Fromage.

This extremely exclusive and intimate evening saw London Elites treated to a champagne tasting masterclass at Champagne + Fromage, a shop and bistro on Wellington Street that sells the finest champagnes, cheeses and charcuterie. The lucky Elites were greeted by Stefano Frigerio, one of the founders of French Bubbles, with a glass of champagne on arrival and the chance to take in the beautiful Gallic surroundings.

 

 

The champagne tasting took place on the lower ground floor and was led by Maud Fierobe, the other half of the French Bubbles founding team, and a French native. The masterclass was informative, though kept fun with a great atmosphere and fantastic selection of bubbly and food pairings. Rachel J was so enamoured with the Brillat-Savarin triple cream cheese that she couldn't resist sneaking a second wedge (whilst convincing us to go see the show she's performing in). Meanwhile, Bea B merrily exited the tasting room, satisfied with a proper yelpy send-off to her new home in Zurich.

Following their sessions the Yelpers had a chance to peruse the gorgeously rustic store and Stefano and Maud were generous enough to offer a 10% discount on purchases to any Elite that checked into the event using their Yelp mobile app. The offer was so tempting that Erica U couldn't decide between taking home one bottle of bubbly or two. In fact, the Waris Larmandier proved to be so popular that Yelpers cleaned out the shelves not once, but twice!

 

 

Happy, smiling Elites left Champagne + Fromage with the knowledge of a champagne connoisseur, the light and fuzzy heads of Yelpers filled with bubbles and, for some, the heavy, clinking bags of discounted champagne, cheese and charcuterie.
