Yelp's Grand Summer Elite Event
What's better than downloading Yelp's 100 Days of Summer? Living it, which is exactly what LA East Elites did on Sunday, July 1 at LA summer staple, Grand Performances. A lazy Sunday turned into an explosive one thanks to our amazing sponsors and live musical ensemble.
While DTLA might be sleepy on most Sundays, it lit up as soon as Elite yelpers and their guests arrived at California Plaza, where Grand Performances transforms the urban oasis into a majestic amphitheater canvased by the plaza's massive waterfall and downtown's skyline. Throughout summer months, local acts get the opportunity to perform for the public on Fridays and Saturdays, but on this day, guests were given an exclusive concert of their very own from the charming gents of indie-pop trio, Lady Danville! The lads treated new fans to a handful of songs that couldn't have been more perfect for the casual Sunday affair. Ladies were swooning, chaps were tapping their feet along, all were entertained.
The Elite crew was able to picnic while concerting thanks to Fresh & Easy's ready-to-go lunch meals consisting of salads, sandwiches, snacks, and water. Not to mention, flipflop wines was on hand delighting palates with Cab, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Moscato (this stuff could cure even the most severe case of summer blues), and our friends at Bombay Sapphire set up a proper bar inviting guests to create their own gin-inspired cocktails. Starry Kitchen joined the last leg of the event so sweet tooths were tickled with a taste of a salted plum lychee panna cotta dessert.
In between sets of Lady Danville and GP house DJ Marlon Fuentes, instagraphicT was on site providing everyone with a chance to screen print a t-shirt with a custom-made design or one of their very own instagram pics. The unique service was a hit with the crowd and the ladies were nonstop busy the entire event. Thanks to Jerry Lin for running around the plaza capturing all the good times that will be available on the LA Flickr page soon and of course read what yelpers had to say about the afternoon delight here.
Summer lovin'!
