Yelp Sydney’s Wonderful Art & Wine Evening @ Gaffa
Last night Sydney’s Elite Yelpers were treated to an evening of fun and frivolity at Gaffa, an art gallery and studio space located in a beautiful 3-story heritage building in the heart of the CBD. Committed to nurturing collaboration, collectivity and cohesion within Sydney’s contemporary arts community, Gaffa gave Yelpers a taste of their inspirational creativity and hosted a night that will live large in the memory.
With James the sax man setting the scene with mood music from the mezzanine, Gaffa’s ground-floor arcade spaces were transformed into creative pop-up stations where Yelpers played ping pong, watched a live video installation and unleashed their inner 6-year old in the collaborative art room.
The bar was a hotbed of activity with Yelpers enjoying world class New Zealand vino courtesy of master winemakers Giesen. The super smooth Merlot warmed the cockles on a chilly evening, and there was some serious double-fisting going on with the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, the #2 selling white wine in all of Australia! There was even more in store up on the gallery level, where Sydney rep Rob conducted a tasting of Giesen’s Riesling and their sensational Pinot Grigio amongst the innovative artwork on display.
One of the undoubted hits of the evening were the incredible edibles dished up by Chris, the maestro behind local heroes Black Star Pastry. Yelpers queued for his beer & brisket pie, tomato galette with truffled gorgonzola and a Godzilla-sized Black Forest cake, a special treat normally available only on weekends.
When prize time rolled around the girls swept the pool with Jill H snaffling a $100 voucher for Sterling, Gaffa’s jewellery and gift shop, and Hayley B scoring a Giesen prize pack consisting of a bottle of fantastic wine, a wine bucket and a snazzy apron.

Many thanks to the Kelly, Amy, Nina, and Andy at Gaffa for an unbelievably fun evening, and to Sam Macdonald from Sam Macdonald Photography for providing the happy snaps on the night. Until next time . . . SYOY!
