Notorious Yelpers M.O.B. It Up!
It's entirely too hot outside. On Tuesday night though, the Brooklyn Yelp Elite got to chill out in the awesomely air-conditioned, lovely and laid-back Maimonide of Brooklyn. High-ceilinged, bright and beautiful, this relative newcomer to the Atlantic Ave scene is serving up some of the most delicious food you've ever had, and it just happens to be vegan.
With DJ Sambarella spinning to set the mood and the charming staff serving up three different beers from one of Brooklyn's best breweries, everyone got a chance to relax before America's birthday. Sixpoint had their signature Sweet Action, as well as Crisp and the summery Apollo on hand to kick the party off, and everyone indulged at the communal tables and in the shaded garden.
NYC's finest feasted on tastes of their eclectic and awesome menu. Vegetarians and omnivores alike were amazed by what Kevin F called the "crazy delicious veggie burger," and the fried mushroom "calamari" kept people coming back for more! Of course, the notorious M.O.B.s (flatbreads topped with wholesome ingredients) were crowd-pleasers, with my own personal favorite, the Belly Charmer, rocking more than a few worlds.
A huge thanks goes out to Zorina, Neil, Mana and the rest of the Maimonide staff for welcoming the Yelp Elite with open arms. They put out an unforgettable spread, and I know I'll be back not just for Meatless Mondays, but whenever I need some great grub! Whether or not you made it out, make sure you check out all the photos, and what people are saying in reviews and on Talk.
As Lisa A says, "Hooray for vegan food, Sixpoint, an incredibly nice staff and a most excellent evening with fellow yelpers."
Cheers,
