Manhattan's Black & Blue Diversion At RSVP
They say anything worth going to requires an RSVP... so how very apropos that the moniker for this South Village hashery shares the French acronym, répondez s'il vous plaît?
In the newly-minted space backed by longtime restaurant personality Jon B with a Hell's Kitchen alum by the name of Seth Levine slingin' gourmet sustinence behind the grill, RSVP has quickly caught the attention of foodies, critics, socialites, and celebrities alike in just the first handful of days in operation. And to no surprise, Yelp Elites had the chance to peruse the food and drink offerings on a balmy afternoon on Watts.
Bites like foie gras dumplings (take that, California!), miso rock shrimp, ahi tuna spring rolls, and miniature French toast bites made the rounds early, while spoonfuls of refreshing watermelon salad brought summertime to the forefront of party goers' taste buds. Oh, but that's not all... the star of this here matinee, the truffle mac 'n' cheese, was found being whipped up live, on the floor, by none other than Executive Chef Seth Levine himself. In short, to simply call this delectable Blue Box treat "good" would be akin to calling the Revolutionary War "a tiny little scuffle" that lasted darn near 8.5 years. We're still dreaming of that savory little vittle!
A party isn't complete without a roaming magician by the name of John Born (FTR alert, kiddos!) blowing the minds of anyone within 10 yards of his up-close magic, and of course, fine elixirs like the STARRberry mint mojito from our pals at STARR African Rum.
