Corner Table's new owners Nick and Chenny Rancone pulled out all the stops to make the Elite Squad feel welcome, including a first-rate tasting of their ever-inventive menu. Chef Thomas Boemer treated the Elite Squad to savory ricotta gnocchi, biscuits with rhubarb jelly, smoked trout rilette with lavash, gougeres with ham, pommes dauphines filled with pork confit and quite possibly the creamiest, most melt-in-your-mouth pork belly in the city. Oh, and you carnivores might be interested to know that all this porky goodness came from one pig. Suey!
Not only was the eatin' local, but the drinkin' was too! Jon Messier from Lucid Brewing, brought every single beer that this Minnetonka brewery's sporting right now. Lucid's Dyno, Cammo and Air varieties kept the Elites in high spirits, but the party also doubled as a release of a brand new seasonal saison, Summertide. This refreshing Belgian-style brew was put into kegs just that morning and the yelpers were the very first to get a taste. And in keeping with the country vibe, those with a taste for the grape imbibed from a box, literally.Make sure to check out the reviews of the event on Yelp and the incredible pictures from Cadence Cornelius Photographs on Flickr for more party fun (including the scary horse masks that made their second Elite party appearance of the year). And if you're interested in becoming part of the Elite Squad, let's talk!
Until next time,
