Yelp's Brew-tiful Elite Event at Crown and Hammer Pub

“How do you make a Monday feel less Monday-ish?” asks Jenny J. It’s simple: “Treat it like a Friday!” Veering away from the typical mundane Monday night, Yelp Hartford Elites descended upon historic Collinsville’s Crown and Hammer Pub for an evening of local beer, scrumptious bites, live music from pianist André Balazs and - of course - fantastic company. 

Yelpers and their guests enjoyed a full spread of savory bites, including shrimp and scallops with pesto cream, meaty teriyaki chicken wings, spicy fried green tomatoes topped with crumbled blue cheese, and beef tenderloin bites with horseradish cream. Think Crown and Hammer stopped there? Think again! Dan R loved the abundant “cheese and fruit platters” and gave “major props to the desserts” – decadent “mini chocolate lava cakes and key lime pie tarts.”  

The extremely talented André Balazs captivated guests with an evening of musical entertainment, which Taryn M found to be “a great touch to the party ambiance.” In the mood for something seasonal? Always “a big fan of Hooker Brewery’s Watermelon Ale,” Freesia S was “happy to see it on tap,” while Kara S swooned over Hooker’s delightful Hop Meadow IPA. And for Dan S, “the highlight of the night was the tasting” from Relic Brewing, Plainville’s hoppin' new nano-brewery. Amber C couldn’t wait to sample Relic’s luscious Houndstooth brew, deeming it "nice and dark, the kind of beer you want to take your time with.” 

It wouldn’t be an Elite event without a heavy dose of shwag, and Yelpers left with bottle openers, beer cozies, and shot glasses for summer imbibing! A big thanks goes to our wonderful hosts at Crown & Hammer, and to Hooker Brewery, Relic Brewing, and André Balazs for participating!
