Yelp Pittsburgh Sets Sail on the Three Rivers
Ahoy mateys! Yelp set sail for an adventure on the Three Rivers for Yelp's on a Boat Elite Event hosted by the Gateway Clipper Fleet last week. As Miriam W put it: "The gods were smiling on us last night as we stepped aboard the USS Princess for an evening of fun, as the weather could not have been more picture perfect."
Guests were treated to an exclusive sightseeing tour round the Steel City compliments of Captain Kate Denham. Did you know that the Smithfield Street Bridge was designed by John Roebling, who later designed the Brooklyn Bridge? Now we do! "The tour itself was fun and informative." recalls Morgan D. "The captain had lots of new, interesting tidbits to share about our great city." See, it's fun to learn!
A bountiful looking buffet was bestowed upon the lucky Yelpers that included a spread of antipasti, crudite of artistic vegetable, boursin and grape puffs, mushrooms with veal florentine, bruschetta, smoked chicken quesadilla, chicken and prosciutto ham tempura and petit fours. Linda W was excited to see "piles of fresh and vibrant fruits, stacks of tempting cookies of all kinds that rivaled the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table! Trays and trays of hot foods of all variety, platters piled high with shrimp, cheeses and slender rolls of salami and pepperoni abounded. If you went away hungry, well shame on you!"
Later in the evening the group grabbed another perfect summer thirst quencher, IC Light Mango and moved to the top of deck to enjoy the open air and get down to some sweet tunes. We couldn't put it any better than Jenny B did: "It's so nice to be out on a boat at twilight, looking at Pittsburgh's beautiful skyline with a group of your Yelp-iest friends. I met new people, listened to fun music, and had a wonderful time."
A big thank you to the Gateway Clipper Fleet, Charter Sales Manager Lori Jaczesko and the amazing staff for treating Yelpers to such an amazing evening! Also, thanks to Ray Miles Photography for the fab photo's that you can check out here. And last, but certainly not least, thanks to IC Light Mango for providing the fantastic fruity brews.
