Yelp Phoenix's Backstage Pass to Arizona's PBS Studios
Lights, camera, action! On Thursday, May 28th, Yelp Elites and their guests were invited to a one-of-a-kind experience at Arizona's PBS Studios. Throughout the night, yelpers enjoyed food from Zoes Kitchen and beer from Old World Brewery while getting their 15 minutes of fame thanks to Arizona's PBS Studios.
Yelp Elites sported their best PBS memories through creative costumes and discovered all that Arizona PBS Studios has to offer. While some took tours of the studio, others posed for the camera at the Cookie Monster photo booth. Zoes Kitchen stopped by to provide a heavy sampling of their finest including hummus, pitas, cucumbers, chicken salad sandwiches, chicken kabobs and enormous cookies that would even make the Cookie Monster himself jealous! Luckily Old World Brewery paid the party a visit as well and poured a hefty sampling of their finest beers throughout the night.
DJ HartBreaks livened the party with music while Art of Merlot invited yelpers to partake in a live, interactive Sesame Street mural that will now hang in PBS Studios! PBS favorites like Carmen San Diego, Bob Ross, Elmo, Bill Nye the Science guy and others roamed the crowd and entered the costume contest (congrats Carmen San Diego on winning first prize!) For those who didn't come in costume, Diane from Frickin' Awesome Face Painting did some awesome art work and painted everything from flowers to entire tigers on yelper's faces!
An Elite event at Arizona's PBS Studios wouldn't be complete without some camera time, so luckily the producers of Check Please! were there roaming the crowd and asking yelper's about their favorite local businesses around the Valley. In just two hours, we raised $500 for Arizona Eight PBS studios thanks to the generosity of the Yelp Elites and their guests.
