Yelp Orlando's Summertime Street Soirée

Yelp Orlando celebrated the the return of summer (and Hurricane season) as we stormed Pine Street in Downtown Orlando with a bash of yelpy proportions on Saturday: Yelp Orlando's Summertime Street Soirée. Yes, it was the first week of hurricane season and rain tried to hold us down from partying but over 600 community yelpers held strong and braved Mother Nature.

The amazing Yelp community raised over $1,000 in donations to CityArts Factory, Downtown's largest collective of art galleries which showcases an infusion of local and international works of art, rotated on a monthly basis and is a part of the thriving Downtown Arts District.

"Usually when it rains, people call it a day and head inside. What happens when it rains at an Orlando Yelp Event? People take to the streets and start dancing. Take an occasional break for a shot of Jager or a Yum Yum cupcake. And then right back to the streets!" - Joshua J

The V Group headed up our amazing list of sponsors and hosted 4 bars with delicious cocktails: NV Lounge, Vixen, Vintage and their newest Downtown Orlando addition, The Fifth! NOHO "The Hangover Defense," greeted everyone at the entrance to ensure they could drink up and not regret it the next day.

"Kudos to the vendors, I only wish I had ventured out and sampled more of their goodies. I got quite cozy under The Fifth's tent. Our gal took good care of us, setting us up with some Ciroc Vodka. When we felt a need for a little nosh the Gringos gals set us up good with chips, queso, and tacos.  We topped off our bites with a Blonde Ale from Orlando Brewery. Santa's White Christmas Coffee was just the drink to go with the tasty treats'; love my Barnie's Coffee." - Kelli M

Bullitt Bar kept our DJs dry and hosted complimentary Jägermeister. DJ A-Rock and DJ Adam Wells kept this street alive during the entire party and even got people pretending they were in a music video, letting go of their ponchos and kicking up rain to the beats. 5 Guys Dance Crew didn't let a little water get in their way of showcasing their moves either. They took the streets and jammed away also getting the crowed pumped to be there. Local, Hip-Hop acapella beat boxer, Rubox showed off his vocal skills as the entire crowed gathered in awe of his talent.

"I have never danced like a fool for hours in a poncho so that was a first but a fantastic time was had by all! I super loved the mini cupcakes from Yum Yum truck, the kettle corn food truck with endless flavor possibilities including bacon corn, the Tito's vodka samples, and the Bento tasty sushi and crispy chicken samples!" April K

Oblivion Taproom sampled an array of craft beers that had our beer lovers drooling. VAiN kept the energy flowing with Redbull vodka flowing as well as Jäger bombs! Tito's Handmade Vodka, Orlando Brewing and Woodchuck Cider were all on site delivering amazing libations. Barnies CoffeeKitchen provided delicious coffee and drinks to go along with The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck sweet treats. Jeremiah's Italian Ice and Mochi provided velvety goodness all around. Bento showed off their skills with sushi rolling and poured delicious sake for all.

The Crepe Company was cooking up some light and fluffy crepes to keep all taste buds satisfied. Kernel Encore Popcorn kept things poppin' with endless flavors of popcorn including bacon, yelpers personal fav. Gringos Locos provided a taco and nachos setup while Whiskey Dicks proved they are more than just a bar with their delicious array of noshing goodies.
"The woodchuck hard cider tent and craft beers from Pete and Missy of Oblivion Tap Room were popular stops. As the rest of the yelp community joined us, the lines got longer and the dancing in the rain kicked off." - Sabrina B

Refreshing drinks were provided by the "What you drink when you want to think," Nawgan, Nature's great-tasting, truly healthy, organic beverages of Honest Tea and the newly revamped, hydration for every occasion, vitaminwater! Kush Hookah Lounge was a very popular stop with their various flavors of shisha and warm and welcoming host, Gary

"In between dancing, drinking, and eating, we spent a lot of time at the Kush hookah tent. Thanks to Gary for hooking that up because hookah in the rain was awesome! DJ A Rock and DJ Adam Wells kept us in good spirits as well as the dance crews - who doesn't like to dance in the rain?" Elizabeth F

Huge shout out to Eyesview Media who braved the rain and got some footage of everyone partying the wet day away. Check out the video here. Our official Photographer for this event was the local sizzlin' Whats2Hot. You can check out all the fab photos here.
"Wait it rained? I though it was pouring vodka! I have learned not to eat for a few days before such events so I can take down a buffet like a lion does a gazelle on the plains. This was no exception. Overall, great ginds, bountiful liquor, and fantastic people. Let's do this again soon!" - Jeffrey D
