Yelp Kansas City's Flavor Rave @ The Drop
Kansas City's Yelpers spend a lot of time trying out new and exciting foods. But a chance to rewire your tastebuds, making ordinary foods taste extraordinary? That's the type of rare opportunity that Yelp Elites and their guests will jump on. And at Yelp's Flavor Rave @ The Drop, we did just that!
Over 120 Yelpers and their guests swarmed upon our host venue The Drop, immediately greeted with glow-necklaces and pills. Don't worry, these pills are legal! The kind folks at mBerry supplied the party with tablets of concentrated miracle berries! With the promise of sour foods magically turning sweet, guests bee-lined for a buffet of everything from lemons to balsamic vineger to Sour Patch Kids.
The Drop teamed up with Dark Horse Distillery to create two signature drinks to highlight the properties of miracle fruit. The first was a chocolate habanero cocktail, the second was lemon and passionfruit. Both were mouth-puckering sour before taking their pills, but afterwards became sweet, delicious cocktails. Bartenders were prepared for those that elected to not take a tastebud trip, offering complimentary red wine martinis to the guests, one of the venue's signaure cocktails.
And then, like any good trip, the effects slowly wore off. Yelp Elites and their guests shuffled out of the dark bar, still wearing glow necklaces as they walked into the light of day, wondering if their taste buds would ever be the same again. I guess we'll find out at the next event!
