Stockholms första Yelpfest - ett Lip Party

En sval torsdagskväll i juni väljer solen att titta fram på Upplandsgatan i Stockholm där den första svenska Yelpfesten hålls. I den svartvita frisör- och nagelsalongen Why Nots lokaler har det pyntats med rött Yelp och stämningen är bubblande. Fyra sminköser är på plats och sätter på "läppar" från Violent Lips i olika färger och mönster på de gäster som vågar.

De intensivt glittriga "Glitteratti-läpparna", blandas med leopardmönstrade och prickiga läppar, och läppar med ett litet budskap i text. Fem minuter efter att läpparna satts på glädjs gästerna åt att man får äta och dricka. På plats finns cava från Codorníu Raventós och öl från Asahi samt läppvänliga snacks som popcorn och salta pinnar.

DJ-duon PitchSlap spelar stämningshöjande loungelåtar som bland annat "On The Lips" och allt eftersom tiden går har även fler och fler manliga gäster valt att testa på läpparna. Bland männen är tiger- och leopardläppar samt svenska flaggan favoriterna och Mattias D hoppas på att "få se lite stora svenska leende läppar kommande veckor under EM".

Sara H sammanfattar kvällen: "Roliga människor, snygga läppfix, gott bubbel och bra musik. Kunde inte ha haft en bättre torsdagskväll och ser fram emot nästa Yelp-fest!"

A cool Thursday evening in June the sun has decided to come out for the first Yelp Event in Stockholm, Sweden. The black and white hair and nail saloon Why Not is now Yelp decorated in red and the atmosphere is bubbling. Four make up artists are all set to ”put on lips” from Violent Lips in different colors and patterns on our brave guests.

Intense glittery "Glitteratti lips", are mixed with leopard and polka dot lips, and lips with a message. Five minutes after the lips are applied, the guests are happy to be able to drink cava from Codorníu Raventós and beer from Asahi and eat lip-friendly snacks like popcorn and pretzels.

The DJ duo PitchSlap is playing mood-enhancing lounge music including "On The Lips" and after a while more and more male guests decided to try on the lips. Tiger lips, leopard lips and the Swedish flag are favorites among the men. Mattias D hopes to "get to see some big smiling lips with the Swedish flag at the European Championships the weeks to come."

Sara H sums up the evening: "Fun people, nice lipp-fix, good cava and great music. I couldn’t have had a better Thursday night and look forward to the next Yelp party!"
