Long Island Elite members have been waiting eagerly for their first restaurant Elite event and hearing the foodie battle cry, Miraku stepped up to the plate. Miraku is a fresh addition to the Long Island Japanese food scene with its blend of traditional sushi spreads along with modern Japanese tapas. The cuisine served to over 70+ yelpers ranged from edamame falafels to cheesesteak maki rolls to sushi combinations made with curry, pesto sauce and melty mozzarella cheese (drroooool).
Between those bountiful bites, yelpers took a turn around the sake tasting stations. Sipping on over a dozen sakes from various regions of Japan, we met the brewer and learned some serious sake lessons from World of Sake staff. Guests certainly didn't go thirsty since Miraku was also serving up fancy libations such as fuji apple martinis, ginger margaritas and craft brews for all. And what do you do with a bunch of yelpers full of food and drink? Entertain, entertain, entertain! LUMi8 busted out the costumes and provided an impressive new photo booth for all to enjoy. Check out the smiles, 'staches and boa's here! Also working the crowd was our Yelp LI resident wizard, Rich from Canosmagic. When he wasn't wow-ing Elites with slight-of-hand and card tricks he made entire beers disappear (we all know how that one is done). Last but not least, everyone was photographed smiling and chatting with friends, old and new, by John Emig. Did you miss the event? Silly you. Check out all the rave reviews here and if you were in attendance, talk it up!
