Yelp Dallas Helped Its Hangover & Kicked-Off Yelp's Passport to Deep Ellum

For most, May 6th marks that hard day after Cinco De Mayo - a Mexican holiday that America chooses to celebrate by a day of sombreros, margaritas, and tequila shots. With the impending Yelp's Passport to Deep Ellum, Yelp Dallas decided to commemorate Dallas' collective hangover as the beginning of an amazing two-week promotion celebrating Deep Ellum with The Hangover Helper Elite Event! Deep Ellum's Club Dada, Super Yoga Palace, DJ Datahowler, and Pepe & Mito's came together for an afternoon of top shelf Tito's bloody marys, mimosas, bites, a deep-stretch yoga session, henna tattoos, and Frida Kahlo photo opps.

It's not everyday you walk into an event and there is a live Yoga session to your left and a Henna artists producing intricately beautiful designs on your right. Well, at a Yelp event in Deep Ellum it's just part of the norm. The highly-rated Super Yoga Palace led a soothing deep stretch session while local musician and DJ, Datahowler produced live beats, putting us all into a happy hangover trance. Our aching heads from the Cinco De Mayo haze were all cured. So, what's the natural next step? A little hair of the dog, of course!

Let the drinking begin! Club Dada rocked Yelper's worlds with an endless flow of mimosas and Tito's Bloody Marys. Guests that didn't feel compelled to get bendy with it looked on happily at the Yogi Yelpers contorting their bodies into all-sorts-of crazy positions. The terrific Tex-Mex spot, Pepe & Mito's was there on-site serving up quesadillas, chicken flautas, and delectable cheese and chicken fried taquitos. The bountiful spread of Tex-Mex and readily available curable cocktails made for an unforgettable afternoon.

After appetites and thirts were satisfied, guests found themselves playing Frida and Diego in the photo set designed and created by local artist, Courtney Miles. The Mexican-inspired backdrop was a perfect fit for the event's theme and feeling. As the event came to an end, Yelpers showed us what they got as each guest had a chance to take a whack at the piƱata stuffed to the brim with surprises like candy, Yelp shirts, and Homegrown Music and Arts Festival stickers. And of course, no one went home empty handed. Plenty of Yelp-customized passport holders and luggage tags were for the taking and 2 sets of tickets were given away for the local Homewgrown Music and Arts Festival taking place this Memorial day weekend.
