On Thursday, April 26th recess began for 1,500 lucky yelpers during Yelp's Ultimate pleY Date at the Children's Museum of Phoenix. Throughout the night, yelpers channeled their inner kid and pleYed with 26 food and beverage sponsors, a live band, DJ, stilt walkers, magicians, jugglers and more!
A Yelp party doesn't start inside, it starts in line and Yelp's Ultimate pleY Date was no exception. Upon arrival, Arizona's Singing Cowboy crooned the crowd and invited guests to take a picture with his trusty horse Dusty. While waiting in line, Short Leash Dogs, Shine Coffee and KIND Healthy Snacks greeted party-goers with samples from their food trucks all while the Taylor Family Circus showed off their skills on stilts.
Once inside the courtyard, yelpers were immediately welcomed with lively tunes courtesy of DJ HartBreaks, freshly popped popcorn from HDE Agency, potato sack races from AZ BBQ Festival and bags of popchips. Those who donated to the Children's Museum of Phoenix received a surprise t-shirt from Wildflower Bread Company and thanks to those generous donations, we raised approximately $5,200 that night for the Children's Museum of Phoenix! Before heading inside, many stopped by the activity tables for some sidewalk chalk art, coloring, hoola-hooping and to blow some bubbles!
During pleYtime, hungry yelpers enjoyed savory selections from 5th and Wine, Brio, Hole in the Wall & Rico's American Grill, Rubio's, Wildflower Bread Company, Zoes Kitchen and Upper Crust. When their sweet tooth kicked in, yelpers headed upstairs for a sweet treats from Boho Farm, Cookiez on Mill, JJ's Brownies, Lee's Cream Liqueur and The Loaded Cupcake.
The cocktails flowed and allowed for an increase in energy-level thanks to the concoctions from Arroyo Vodka, Bushmills Irish Honey, Cruz Tequila and Crown Royal. Those with grape expectations enjoyed vino from Savida Sangria and Segura Viudas, while beer-lovers sipped on selections from SanTan Brewing Company. To ensure that the crowd stayed properly hydrated, vitmainwater was on hand providing bottles of their delicious flavored water.
The Children's Museum of Phoenix opened all three floors to yelpers while the Bad Brass Band Cactus Band performed live music and fairytale characters from Monsterland roamed the crowd. During the party, guests explored all the excitment the museum has to offer including a journey through the Noodle Forest and the ultimate life-size climber! Dizzie the Balloon Artist treated the crowd to his show of balloon creations in the Yelp lounge, while Flash surprised the unassuming with mysterious magic. James Reid, Juggler Extrodinaire, not only juggled his way through the party but he also taught a yelper or two a few juggling tricks as well! As if that's not enough, Candy Face spruced up the scenery with face painting and the Taylor Family Circus surprised guests with a mermaid contortionist, all while Massage Envy provided a relaxing environment with express massages for all.
All this excitment can't be forgotten, so luckily the party had plenty of photo opps ready for memories in the making. American Vision Windows created a room set-up and invited yelpers to peek through the windows for a picture. SnapBooth Entertainment brought their photobooth and plenty of props for guests to pose with. Flipbook Memories invited guests to create a book of memories behind their new white screen, all while Melon Fish Photo captured candid shots throughout the night.
Some very lucky yelpers walked away with raffle prizes including an iPad 3 and sliding glass doors courtesy of Amerian Vision Windows, a 10 course wine pairing dinner for four courtesy of Petite Maison and tickets to the SanTan Wheelie Jam thanks to HDE Agency. Yelp's Ultimate pleY Date at the Children's Museum of Phoenix created an evening of playful fun and discovery. You can have pleYtime again, simply by visiting the reviews and pictures from the night!
