Yelp St. Louis Elites "Hop" Into Spring @ The Amsterdam Tavern
What do you get when you mix St. Louis Elites, an impressive patio, idyllic spring weather, and local breweries? One heck of an evening! The Amsterdam Tavern hosted our April Elite event and 70 of us got to partake in a night that'll go down in the books. The event was called Yelp "Hops" Into Spring, in honor of the four local breweries that were on hand to sample their brews. Special thanks to 4 Hands Brewing, Urban Chestnut, Ferguson Brewing, and The Civil Life for giving us samples and telling us all about their local businesses and brewing methods!
Michele C Catering was on hand sampling a seriously fresh spread: we're talking Mediterranean platters (hummus, egpplant and olive coponata), Mediterranean olives, tomatoes & cucumber chips, and assorted flatbreads. Add a variety of pizza from The Amsterdam Tavern and ribs and pulled pork from Bogart's Smokehouse to the mix, and every single craving we've ever had was satisfied. Needless to say, we didn't go hungry...
No good outdoor bash is complete without a selection of games, and Elites got their competition on in games of cornhole as well as a human-sized Jenga game (thank you Party Pillars!) I'm sure plenty that were there that night will tell you that Jenga game was NOT as easy as it seemed! Every once in a while conversations were broken up with a crash of the blocks falling to the ground.
While playing games and sampling brews, Alec Frisch & friends played some live tunes that kept the energy up and the fun going. It was also Norma H's birthday, so the entire patio sang Happy Birthday to her while she blew out the candles! Of course no Yelp event is complete without a photo wall, so guests made the most of our beer-themed setup.
Special thanks to The Amsterdam Tavern for letting Yelp take over their patio, all of the local breweries that came out, Alec Frisch & friends for keeping us grooving all night, Michele C Catering for her delightful spread of eats, and DMGillespie Photography for capturing it all on film. Make sure to check out the raving reviews and also the full spread of photos on the Yelp Flickr.
Until next time... SYOY!
