Ahoy, Mates! The Love Boat Dallas docked at Port Cedar Springs and exclusively invited the Dallas Elites to strap on their life preserver, step into their top siders, don their best tourist, floral shirt, and climb aboard the mighty Yelp Love Boat Vessel – a pimped out party bus – and cruise their way down Cedar Springs! To literally put a night cap on the night we celebrated the cruise's closing at the captain's quarter with complementary beats and drinks at the uber swanky and sleek Ilume Building that Chip C plans on living in after "he sells the wife and kids."
The Love Boat adventures Kicked off at the Ilume's luxurious lounge adorned with bright pops of love-red and nautical accents scattered amongst Yelp koozies and bouncy balls for the guests, but the most important element to welcome the cruise line passenger's had to be the local brew, Franconia. The pilsner brew was fresh with a citrus zest that brought everyone to their hoppy place. The McKinney brewery gets two big thumbs-up from us!
Our fun-loving group was divided in half as one cruise line commenced at Dish and the other boarded the Yelp Love Boat for all sorts of debauchery. Let's just leave it at this: there was a stipper pole and beer on board. Let your imaginations sail away with that thought. Once the other cruise line docked at the first destination, Advanced Skin Fitness, the true fun began. Only the best cruise lines boast the most elaborate spa treaments. So, bottles of bubbly popped as we learned all the unique intricacies of skin care, sun damage, and the difference between botox and dysport. Who Jodi C describes as a "a great sport. :)," Sarah volunteered to receive dysport during a live demonstration. Champagne and botox? Why Not?
After being wined and dined by the delectable roasted peppers, fried calamari, and fancy flat breads at the divine Dish, Niki W was regretting being "such a gentle lady and wishes she'd hurdled herself over the other Yelpers in attendance, because it was that good." Not to mention that, "the staff was friendly, and the location was so fun!" Lively libation, the Spiced Apple Yelp-Tini, was a perfect way to wet our whistles for the crazy adventures to come at Onyx Nail Bar. Chip C manned up and volunteered to have his nails colored pink in order to successfully complete one our passport tasks.
Post-Onyx Nail bar carousuels, things cultured up a bit with some at the Ilume Gallerie. Yelpers were invited into the contemporary gallery to drink some vino and learn about the feautured artists, like Kiki Curry - one of Megan S's favorite. Next up, was the always amazing Axiom sushi. With a whole area exclusive to the Yelpers and compilmentary VeeV cocktails, we had the ultimate, extravagant cruise line accommodations, to say the least. VeeV Acai Vodka was a delightful, low calorie, eco-friendly delicacsy to wash down the outstanding array of sushi rolls and more!
As we all know, all good things come to an end. As was the case with our Love Boat Cruise. Once the final vessel finally docked, we wrapped up an unforgettable evening by crowning Megan S's cruise victorious of the passport scavenger hunt as they successfully traveled to each destination and creatively completed each island's task.
