With the Yelp Shops Local Pledge in full effect, Salt Lake City yelpers gathered at the Millcreek Art Space At Flynn Artipelago to celebrate the love of all things local at the Yelp Shops Local Holiday Soiree. Several artists in this old radio factory-turned-studio-space opened their doors to let in other local businesses and food for everyone to enjoy.
While yelpers admired art from Stephanie Saint-Thomas, Urbanscrap Studios, Erin Milne Pottery, Mike Dobson and G White Fine Art and listed to Rhonda Thiele's acoustic style, they were treated to some incredible local nummies. Beehive Cheese, Anne Made Jam, Happy Monkey Hummus, Happy Day Gourmet popcorn, and Salsita Mendoza all provided delighful bites amongst all the eclectic art. Rubysnap was also on hand with a preview of their January cookie. David Estes Studio and his cigar box art was the perfect place for Beehive Cigars and their wide array of fine stogey stuff.
The brand new Roots Café also opened their doors with scrumptious bites including a clam chowder perfect for the windy night, and the most darling pumpkin chai pie pops. Next door at The Old Flamingo, guests cruised the co-op art and vintage goods space while Kevin Flynn Jazz gave the evening a swanky groove.
Proving that sometimes the best gifts are homemade, The Old Flamingo's "Create Your Own Tee Shirt" station was a hit, and there was free gift wrapping for anyone who found that perfect something for someone on their list. Everyone was able to walk away with the gift of Yelp schwag from the Schwag Buffet.
With bellies filled with good food and hearts warmed by good company (and good drink!), everyone mixed, mingled and wished the happiest of holidays to their fellow yelpers while posing for pics.
Until next time!
