Yelp Detroit Elites Get Into The Holiday Spirit!

On the 13th day of December the Detroit Yelpers gave to me--tasty holiday cookies in 30 vari-e-ties!

Ah, yes! Last week Yelp Detroit Elites gathered at Torino Espresso + Bar in Ferndale to spread some holiday cheer and raise each others glucose levels at our first ever Tis the Season Holiday Cookie Exchange! Elites and their guests provided us with nearly 30 different cookies/treats from snickerdoodles to biscotti, salted chocolate chip to rice krispie treats.

To help those cookies go down Torino hooked us up with tasty cups of coffee spiked with either Bailey’s or Kahlua. For something a little more savory we also snacked on Tornio platters—their signature plates of chef chosen cheeses, meats, and accompaniments like olives, honey comb, reduced balsamic vinegar, and more!

To continue the holiday cheer we also gave away holiday themed prizes like copies of Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer and Christmas Vacation on DVD, a chocolate Trivial Pursuit game, and the most fancy of all—a white chocolate Santa beard and moustache!

Since there was far too many treats to eat on site guests were provided adorable holiday take out boxes to fill with sweets to take home and munch on throughout the coming days. A decorating station with plenty of glitter, bows, and stickers also allowed folks to amp up the holiday spirit by fancying up their containers.

If you made it and want to share your thoughts feel free to check out the reviews (and write your own) over yonder. Photos can be found here for your enjoyment. As always, thanks to Doug Coombe for snapping those lovely memories and a hundred thanks to Torino Espresso + Bar for hosting such a fabulous evening.

And so we end a most amazing 2011 here in Detroit. Filled with delicious snacks and drinks, rock and roll, bocce, wine, karaoke, culture, and the Greatest Show on Earth. Happy holidays to all and here’s to many more memories to be made in 2012!

SYOY in the New Year!
