Milwaukee Elites Celebrate a Very Yelp-y Kitschmas!
I knew this was going to be a good one, Yelp-nation.
I guess I just had a gut feeling that this was going to an end-of-year, holiday bash for the books. I knew it when after almost a year of being a solid Yelp community here in the fine, fine city of Milwaukee — which is Algonquin for 'the good land,' if you aren't familiar with Alice Cooper — we had amassed a group of amazing elites from every nook and cranny of MKE. I knew it when we started eating sushi and Turkish and French food on the regular together. I knew it after watching elites and guests polka together. I knew it when I read the reviews, celebrating everything beautiful and vibrant and unique about the four-one-four and stellar local businesses.
So when Yelp Milwaukee got together this past Thursday at Libiamo Restaurant + Hall for 'A Very Yelp-y Kitschmas,' I knew we were in for a good time. And the photos don't lie, friends.
A quick rundown? Montepulciano, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, hot cocoa (spiked and N/A) and amazing bites both beloved and brand new courtesy of Libiamo's sister establishment, Nessun Dorma. (See pancetta BLTs above!) Elites and guests were also treated to smoked salmon bruschetta, balsamic-glazed ribs, caponata, formaggio sandwiches, portabello-marsala ravioli, and more! We played "take away" white elephant, which was a total blast, rocked giant jenga + bags, played "Pin the nose on the Rudolph," and hung out with a rather sketchy Santa...
We raised some solid coin for the Hunger Task Force, danced Charlie Brown-style to Vince Guaraldi, voted on our favorite ugly sweater (check out Mark S in all his winning glory below!), and had an absolute blast celebrating the holidays and our Yelp community. Additional photos of this par-tay (by Luke and Adam) can be found here.
I'm so proud and honored to be a CM of such an amazing group of folks in such an amazing city. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for Yelp in MKE!
Happy Holidays, and until next year... SYOY!
