Las Vegas Yelpers Got Nerdy
You may think you know Vegas, but betcha never thought you'd catch us ridin' nerdy? Well, think again! This past Wednesday Vegas yelpers hiked up their pants and pulled out their bow ties for a night of Nerdy Dancing to kick off Yelp Geeks Out! at the geek chic Royal House. It was quite the bespectacle!
Before the nerd herd could even clear the door, they were greeted with a pulled porky taco and window love by Slidin' Thru and the very appropriate cheesy buns from Tasty Bunz. Robo T was on hand to greet everyone with thirst-quenching VitaCoco and for sudden snack attacks popchips had a bounty of bags.
For the wallflowers that needed a little extra liquid encouragement to hit the dance floor, the adult Sailor Jerry fruit punch mixed up by BackBar USA was flowing, strawberry and banana VnC Cocktail daiquiris were churning, and the every adorable Hello Kitty Wines were toasted!
And, of course, the feast fit for a dork continued with meatball stromboli and pizza from Biaggio's, subs by Capriotti's, sweet little cupcakes, including some boozey ones, from Pick Your Poison, out of this world popcorn by Popped (liquid nitrogen anyone?), and decadent ETHEL M chocolate.
Nobody puts Booger in a corner, so ShutterBooth made everyone a star in their own private photobooth. And, in case someone left their unicorn at home, Balloons With A Twist was blowing up the party with unimaginable creations! Last but not least, of course there was a dance off. In celebration of their Cappy Dance Off, the competition was sponsored by Capriotti's. These smooth moves were definitely the hottest on the Strip that night and accompanied by the perfect DJ Charlie Darker soundtrack. One glance at these geeks proved who the new cool kids are!
The nerdy night was captured on film by Ryan Shewchuk, and everyone was able to live like a robot thanks to a special roving photo op by Happenstance Studios. Tony T puts it best, "Hands down the squared root of 25 stars event, to kick off a month of Yelp Geeks Out! events." Be sure to peep all the 5-star reviews here, take in a visual feast on the official Flickr set and don't miss the next Yelp Geeks Out! soiree.
To quote Urkel: "Did I do that?"
Yes, I did!
