Yelp Manchester Bursts Its Bubble
Not that our Elite Events are usually raucous or anything, but Wednesday night proved to be a sedate and educational affair when Yelp Manchester’s finest sat down to a sophisticated soirée at Epernay Champagne Bar, complete with a champagne history lesson.
The knowledgeable Nate talked our enraptured crowd through the various processes involved in making champagne, why it’s different from prosecco and cava, and the lucky attendees got to quaff three different kinds and fire questions over to the expert himself.
Don’t think all this drinking happened on an empty stomach though – plates of delicious canapés ensured no yelper got too lightheaded. Lee Z found himself becoming ‘slightly addicted to the chorizo crisp type things’.
As Andrew Y put it, ‘I don't really know much about wine/champagne – just if it tastes nice or not! We got to try 3 different Ayala champagnes. I brought a friend along and it did mean he wasn't able to go to martial arts training, but he didn't seem bothered after the first glass of champagne!’ Whoops, sorry about that…
