Vancouver Elites Taste The Tequila Sunrise
The sometimes not-so caliente west coast weather couldn't keep Vancouver Yelpers away from feelin' the latin heat on Tuesday night. The Mexican Antojitos y Cantina was a-sizzlin' in a sea of sombrero-wearing, Cerveza-slinging, taco-tasting, margarita-mixing, piñata-pulverizing Elites. Sure, the giant straw hats and oversized mustachios made for awkward photo-ops and sangria slips, but man did they add flavour!
Yelpers managed to stay cool despite the sweltering indoor heat as the Mexican's muy bueno staff kept guests full of their tastiest nombre característica items, including squid tacos, corn tortillas with refried beans, and classic guacamole and salsa. And the drinks? Tequila-filled and flowing, there were at least three different kinds of margaritas being passed, but there was one clear winner of the night. Sarah O is going to "remember to order the sangria next time because it was bangin'." ¡Sí!
And what's a Mexican fiesta without live musica? Luis and the Pussycats got the party started with some traditional Latin beats, while Colene C learned some beats of her own as she drummed on the congas. Even though she "woke up this morning with a bruised palm" it was "worth it for an amazing night!" But the real highlight of the evening was Uni, the muy de la mexicana pink unicorn piñata. After being beat down by Gina I, Colene C, and Sarah O, poor lil' Uni found her way to work the next day with Alicyn C. It looks like they consumed too much tequila though, because Uni's "a total slacker."
Check out the reviews and pictures, and see what other people are saying about the party in the Talk thread. Muchas gracias to Ana, Roger, Ryan, Claudia, and Caesar at The Mexican Antojitos y Cantina for hosting such a fiery fiesta!
Adiós, muchachos!
