Yelp LA Goes Retro at King Richard's Antique Center
Think a torrential downpour, power outage, and roof leaks can hold LA Elites down? Nopesie daisy! Despite Mother Nature's hurdles, Elites time warped through different decades last night at King Richard's Antique Center in Whittier, CA.
The aisles of this collector's dream den were transformed into an homage to all things Bettie Page, Old Hollywood Glam, and Rustic Outdoor Country. Guests dressed in vintage garb and perused through the nostalgic treasures (with a mini flashlight in hand, just like grandma's attic!) while DJ Rudy Hernandez from RMH DanceSport Center kept them groovin' to the oldies. Santiago Valencia Photography captured the essence of the event by constructing a killer backdrop for photos using the surrounding stylish props.
Christina Y and Mike Q manned the bar and soda pop stations so Elites could guzzle down bottles of Lemongrass, Rhubarb, Blood Orange, and Lavender DRY Soda, water, wine, and Cismontane Brewing draft Coulter IPA and Black Dawn's Imperial Coffee Stout. The Fry Girl pumped out addictive mini donuts in delicious flavors, California Grill warmed bodies up instantly with their Chef's Favorite bowtie chicken pasta, Setá took us to hotter culinary climates with perfect paella, and The Candy Chef delighted sweet tooths with their colorful confections and dazzling candy bouquets (one of which "best dressed" winner Michael P got to take home).
The reviews are in and the photos are up (extra special thanks to Albert E)!
A big thank you goes out to all the sponsors who also braved the conditions to show off their goodies and make Yelp Goes Retro even more memorable!
Good day, sirs and madams!
